Hz GTS 4 door '78

Basically a totally mechanical rebuild as follows (including problems back to front)-
running gear:
new holden LSD centre in diff. needs new rear discs one has a deep stone gouge.
The rear suspension bushes where ok alittle swollen but that was all.
All new front suspension bushes + ball joins
DBA drilled/slotted front discs.
new drag link ball joints
fully reco'd PS box and pump.
turbo400 gear box had smooth changes up until taken off the road so i didn't touch it.

engine 308 red:
full rebuilt for roughly $3900
stage 2 cam, yellaterra heads (old ones but fully reco'd with engine). edlebrok dula plane manifold, standard rochester carby reco'd, 40 thou over bore new pistons, block fully remachined, had some starter motor chew fixed. New starter, the crank had been mallory balanced before rebuild. the pistons and rods where balanced after the build.
Built to run unleaded (stainless valve seats)
Genie extractors going into a single 3" pipe

Lowered on monroe shocks, and proper lowered springs not sure of brand, Simmons deep dish mags fats on the back. The guards have been lipped because it was lowered.

I basically finished all that drove it round the car park, and now can't afford to do the body/rust work and really want a motorbike.

It has rust in the rear right whell arch, right scuttle under drivers side door. front sill....really bad in the rear sill. Both windows are out, the front window was cracked so i trashed it. The doors are off, looks like both front doors have rust in them. The front apron has bad rust in the bottom part, probably needs to be replaced. The fron guards have got flex damamge which was there when i bought it from speed humps I guess... and some minimal rust.

I paid $3500 for it 2 years ago, have spent about $7ish on the mechanicals, the front guards doors bonnet and apron are off it, I had started stipping it down for the rust work and realised it is out of my league.....at uni full time now etc. etc. etc.

I got a quote from a classic car rebuilding place for $5k for a totally straight car no bog....but also only hi-filled no paint. I only got the 1 quote, im sure you could get a better 1 I didnt have the time or money to look.

Perfect for a panel beater or similar I guess.

I put it in the trading post for $6500, let me know if im being unrealisitic. I really want to move it.

Sorry about the random blow in post just trying to find that buyer.

Matt

I sold an immaculate inside & out (no rust - believe it or not) 79 HZ Kingswood with Hotwires, 4 wheel discs, GTS dash, Supra 5 speed, stroked 326, VN heads & manifold (Haltech fuel only computer), suspension, etc 2 years ago for $ 6k - only 170,000 genuine kilometres on it. I was the second owner & bought it as a 202 auto with 25,000kms on it......

I happened to find someone that wanted one badly.

I started at $ 10k 4 years earlier.... If I had found this buyer when it was at $ 10k, I may have sold it for close to that, but you have a rare project car there with what sounds like bags of rust, so I think you may be aiming a little high.

Sounds like the donk is okay, I'd suggest selling the running gear separately & cut your losses on the body - too much rust to get any interest.

Just my opinion.

Hope you're successful.

cheers for the reply.

I have had F all interest and I really can't afford to split it due to where it is being stored becoming unavailable....IE trying to boot my car into the rain so....

I have put it as a whole car on EBAY

For wait for it....

$3700.

Hopefully I will find somebody for that price... hopefully I will find lots of somebodies who will bid against each other.
