Hi ppl,

Have a read of this months Wheels. Ls2 is confirmed for VZII AT 295kw. So basically, there's no point in buying a VZ now given that the engine is soon to be superseded AND there's no point in buying a VZII because the styling will soon be outdated at that time. Meanwhile, BAII retains 260kw V8.

Ya, but then the 2007 will come with 350kw, the 2009 400kw etc. Like computers, as soon as you buy one, they are working on another to make it obsolete.

You can't legally or practically on the street use all the power a VY SS has now. The Edit tuners are all saying an 'LS2 Edit' type pack may be this time next year away, and the LS2 already comes with higher compression and more things tweaked which will probably limit how much you can get from mods compared to the LS1.

So it's all swings and round abouts. I'd rather some better brakes and suspenders, personally.

Can't argue with the logic... ;)

You know a runout counts for nothing when your posing on chapel street.

But whats the point of buying a series 1 car. they always have huge problems with them, especially with new technology. I am taking delivery of a run out VY2 Clubby, 285Kw, cant say I would need much more than that on the streets, only if I go do some track work or drag racing. Plus I saved over 10K on the price, still a brand new car with no klms on it.

My brother inlaw follows the same rule, always buys second or third series, gets a great deal, finances to zero residual and goes off agin..currently in a Statesman although I am stirring him about his time spent roadtesting a Voyager as his back was put out by the off-centre pedals.

Once you're a family man, Chapel Street by night becomes just a distant memory, the pop corn smell from the Jam factory & the women, the pizza from Red Pepper & the women, KFC late nighters & the women, Hot dogs from the venders & the women, Chasers on wed. night ( I'm an older bugger) & the women, you get my theme.., until the thought of no sleep and waking up to daddy,..daddy,..daddy,...at 6.30am demanding to be taken out of the cot EVERY morning shocks you into current reality.

Mate, you could learn a lot from your BIL and I'm not referring to the Voyager either. :stick:
