Geez, yes it only has 11,000kms, yes it is in as new condition, but check out the interior and ask yourself why he hasn't had any bids...... (apart from the fact he's starting at an optimistic level)......

What were the interior designers thinking ????

I can't believe they used to put wind-up windows in those things....

$25K for a 21 year old car with wind-up windows. WOOHOO.

And its not even a HDT version.

yes it only has 11,000kms

remember, it's impossible to tell how many it's really done, as the odometer resets at 99999kms... so it's more than likely done 111000 or more...

Odo's on them reset to zero after 999,999, you left a 9 out.

There's just no relief from that interior, the steering column, dash crashpad, dash top - it's like the mona lisa's eyes - it keeps on following you.....
Regarding power windows, that sort of luxury was reserved for the Caprice....be fair it was 1983.
You wouldn't need to be too scientific to decide whether the kms are genuine or not.
Just checked red book, it was $ 19,770 new. At the asking of $ 18k, hasn't depreciation been kind ?

My dad's WB DeVille had electric windows. It was a dam fine car, blue with a blue and grey interior. That's the car I learnt to drive in. When I think back it's only now I have got all the cute little features (mirror in visor, rear reading lights, air vents to back seat ...) in a car of my own. Ofcause being 80s it didn't have ABS/TC, EFI, Airbags, Tensioners, Cruise (but that was available on the Caprice)...

I also recall that the only other Statesman in town (small country town) had a bench seat in the front.

The only way I can explain that interior is that someone may have been shot in that car, and rather than trying to clean ALL the bloud up they decided to just make the whole interior that pinky red - much easier.

Looks to me as though it has had the speedo tampered with. The two 1s do not align. It is verry easy to wind back the speedo on these, but if its not done properly the numbers dont line up.

Very pimp.

I like old, showroom new cars like that. The same condition I bought my Buick in.

My 86 VL Calais had the same coloured interior. Velour snazzy.
Never a good thing to travel in pissed or with a hangover.

I proved this beyond all doubt. Let's just say that map-pockets don't just hold maps ! :spew:

I have a suspicion that the original owner's name was Wayne Kerr. Why else would you bother to have Caprice wheels and grille 'factory fitted' but not the power windows, which are just an example of the useful extras you could have had on thew Series 1 Deville. Luckily, the original owner of my near identical Deville (no Caprice grille or wheels, though thankfully free of the maroon interior) was wiser and opted to have the central locking, cruise, power windows etc fitted instead. Pity they had the Caprice bits fitted though, as this sort of conglomerate car is pretty useless to enthusiasts who would otherwise be interested in such a low k vehicle.
