I want to go to the show this year, and was thinking about driving up in the morning from Canberra, spending the day at the show, then driving home in the evening.

Can anyone recommend anywhere to park in or around Darling Harbour that's reasonably safe within walking distance? Don't mind paying for good secure parking :) Thanks.

edit: checked their website and found these 2 places mentioned:
$22 – Max rate for Entertainment Centre Car Park (Darling Drive)
$18 – Max rate for Harbourside Car Park (Murray Street)

Any other options or are these the best bet?

Ensure your insurance is up to scratch (pun intended) as IIRC last year (or the year before) a number of cars were damaged by hooligans in the nearby carparks.

I'll probably be heading up for a looksee this year as well....

I've only been going to the motor show for the last 2 years. Parked at the Entertainment Centre car park. Haven't had a problem yet (touch wood). Lots of nice cars parked there HSVs, Porsches, etc.

I think it was the exhibition centre carpark which had the shocking speedhumps , esp as you enter . I went in with 4 in the car 3 or 4 years ago and nearly cried  Didn't damage the car ,but sounded nasty going over 'em & I vowed not to use that one again. Pass that one and head to the entertainment centre carpark (next entrance up on the left ) . Or If you go on a W/End ,everyone heads for the Darling harbour carparks ,a clever option can be to use the securty carparks in the City (Sussex street would be good) ,some offer competitive prices on w/ends as they are geared for weekday CBD workers, there is one along there which had a $10 flat rate that i've used and is good.Only a short 5-10 minute walk through tumbalong park .
