Goodyear to make 18" tyres in Oz

Seeing as most here at least start with 18" on their cars I thought this may be of interest as Goodyear will soon make them locally. This is a link to the Melb. H-S business section where the tip-off came:

I actually hope that seeing this plant makes tyres for other brands it might open up a chance for lower priced 18" tyres under those names instead.

That's excellent news after years of uncertainty relating to the viability of the SPT tyre complex.
