Hi, my brother is looking at buying a new ute. He is tossing up between a ba xr6 ute and a vy s / storm ute. Does anyone know the 0-100 times for the commodore ute? Cheers

No times, but I have driven both the Ford and the Holden 6 cylinder utes. The auto gearbox in the Ford is far superior in it's behavour than the VY A4. I am a Holden man through and through but if I had to buy a 6 cylinder ute it would be a hard choice, and one I'm glad I don't have to make. The Storm would be a better pick than an S pack though. My last one was an S pack and I should have just brought an SS and been done with it, the S pack is slightly cheaper than the SS but you just don't get enough goodies on the S compared to the SS, but in the 6 cylinders the storm has a lot more goodies than the S, including FE2 suspension. At the end of the day, I would probably just drive them both and see which one I felt the most comfortable with and buy it. I'm glad I buy V8's, it makes the choice easy, nothing compares to an LS1

I agree with the above. If its 6cylinder and its between a ecotec V6 and a BA I6 I would go the BA everytime. Obviously if its VZ I would consider the HFV6. But the Ecotec just isnt a great engine im afraid and as for the Auto I wont even go there. Before my LS1 I had a VXII Executive V6 Auto. The car was good but the engine felt asthmatic and unrefined above 3000rpm and the auto was always drunk. Not knowing what gear to be in a going clunk clunk clunk all the time and downchaning and upchanging where it wasnt needed.

I drive Work's BA's all the time and the I6 and Auto crapped all over the VX/VY Combinations.

Now V8 is a different story :-)
