Surely that's pushing the boundaries of what you can drive on an ordinary licence?

Now THAT is what I call a ute
General Motors Corp.'s uber-sport utility, the Hummer, has been the biggest and baddest passenger truck on the US market to date, but it may soon be getting some outsized competition in the form of the CXT.But none of this comes cheap: the truck will retail for 95-100,000 dollars -- about the double the price of a Hummer SUV. Mind you though, that is one expensive ute as well!

"re" Is a Greek slang word, we it use while talking to friends.
In translation into English (slang) it is like the word “man”
ie. “Ti le re” = “Wot r ya doin man?’
It’s taken off in the underground fully sick relm!

just quickly jumping back on topic, dads new F150 is 325hp and 560lb-ft and i regularly drive it and im on my P's, been pulled over 4 times for random breath test ( keepign in mind im from qld, so i dont display P's so the only way they can tell is if im pulled over and "license" yes that peice of laminated paper, is checked )
but as i was saying, been pulled over 4 times, once when towing a car trailer fully laden with furniture when moving my gf and havent been asked anythign about its size.. i was sure i woudl get done with the trailer on.. that would have made it pretty long, surely it must be getting close to whats legal and whats not ?

don't licenses allow you to drive anything under a set weight? i have an LR class license which allows me to drive anything under 8 tonnes but i doubt that would cover the cab truck version of this thing, so i wonder how they differentiate between the ute?

I am guessing it would be all to do with carry weight. I think in Aust it's 4 ton limit on a std licence, thats why you can hire the 3 ton moving trucks from thrifty and the like with no probs.
Must be different in the US though.

At six tons, its hauling capability is three times the payload of consumer pick-up trucks. I'm safe with my MC I don't know about the rest of you though
Of course......that makes total sense        bullsh*t Darrel, you're still as confused as me

And every movie/music star in LA will need one. And the bling 24" wheels will get replaced with the bling bling 40" wheels. And the really rich ones will get the custom trailer with spa and room for the ferrari etc...
If Americans run out of sh!t to buy the world economy will stop so keep serving it up to them I say. :teach:
Kenworth will be rushing to market next.

Trucks like that have always been available in the US and Canada at commercial truck and tractor dealers. Ford, GM, and a few other companies like International have always built them and offered them to the well heeled.
The cost is probably why they aren't very common. Usually you see them hauling enclosed trailers for race cars, horses, very expensive caravans and that sort of thing.
Regular trucks like the Ford Super Duty (F-250 in Oz), GM and Dodge crew cabs, Ford Excursion, and GM Suburbans are all about the same size as a Hummer, and are much more common.

If you've got the money, you can buy them in a huge variety of configurations for whatever your purpose. Like I said, it's not very common to see the average person driving them. Not even where I live.

According to last weeks Cars Guide, they will be doing a RHD version which will probably sell for $160,000-180,000
Looks like a good toy
Oh, and Kenworth did this SUV a few years ago now.

Bah why am I bothering doing up an old F350 when I can get an flatbed like that. :-)
In NSW, C licence lets you drive up to 4500KG's or 12 seats. I have an MR which allows anything with 2 axles....not weight based. That's the old system, at least in NSW.
You will struggle to find a 2 axle (Including front wheels....) truck over about 15 tonne tho. This truck has GVM of 25000 pounds...about....er...13 tonne?
So while MR (Medium Rigid...no jokes) or above can drive that in NSW no one else can. USA a whole different story I guess. :)
