Hi.
Im a non LS1 owner but and was just wondering what sort of price a mint VY SS sedan or ute would go for? and do they exist?
reason i ask is i want to sell my vx calais for a VY SS sedan or ute mid next year OR do i go for a VZ then?
BUT it has to be 100%. I.E no scratchs in paint, interior great and as low kilometers as possible. basically i want a new car for cheaper lol.

my calais is great and looks great but it does have a few scratchs/chips/bird crap marks on it and to get it 100% paint wise it would need a re-spray.

All in all.
what do u all think?

Is it possible to find a relatively new SS or just try go for a brand new one?

First, you may be lucky enought to pick up a run out VY model at your nearest dealership that will be brand new for 3/4 of the price.

Second, a secong hand car should never be expected to be perfect, that is why you pay less for one.

Didn't you post this in the validated section ??. Basically comes down to what you want to spend. If it has to be 100% then I guess it's new, Second hand is cheaper but it is Used ie Wear and Tear. You have to expect some faults , minor as they may be with used cars, after all they are driven. The majority of guys on this forum are enthusiasts so the cars would be kept in good condition so they are around, I guess you get what you pay for.

It is always possible to find pristine examples of second hand cars. I guess it all depends on how much you want to spend. There was a VYII SS ute in the paper on the weekend with 14,000klm on it and the dealer wanted more for it than I paid for my brand new VYII SS ute 7 months ago, the only difference is colour. Personnaly I would go for the latest model. I brought a run out last time (VUII) and regreted it later.

Dont buy a ute unless your a tradesman. Simple.

If you don't get a fleet discount and you can live with out the fins on the side a run out VY would be nice.

Also have a look both a VY and VZ and test drive them to see what you think. I think buying a new car should be savoured, don't feel compelled to buy the first thing you test. Try keep of the topic of price before your drive, some salesman once they know your figures may not want to waste their time.

 I've just been trying to do it through Haroc's "how to" hosting and I can't get it to work, I might have to try Voodoo's. My Avatar is actually a photo of my ute that my son took and doctored with photoshop, trouble is it is a bit small to be able to see it.
