Are there any places that do an LS1 Edit in Canberra, or do you have to go to Sydney?

Delco from chipmaster flew in August to do Edits - I dont know of anyone locally that does them, although I believe Gerald Slaven are considering it - I was going to go to Sam's in Sydney (seeing as it is fairly close) to get it done prior to Delco coming .... may be a good option

GenTech Performance in Mitchell do mail order type edits via G&D in Melbourne. Otherwise it's a trip to Sydney or Melb.

To whom it may concern.

Don't believe the hype about LS1, it does'nt unlock the true power of your computer. It has limited access to the computer, there is a guy by the name of Dick who it took him 3 yrs to crack the computer. He has 100% access to the whole computer management system. If you contact Sureflo Exhaust in Sydney they can put you in contact with him.

Prior to Dick tunning my car which gave me a healthy 242rwkw, also not even cracking the motor open. I went past Sam's performance & i explained to them i have a flat spot, there reply was the LS1 edit won't get rid of it. I was told to get 3.91 diff gears to over come the flat spot.

After Dicks edit i have no flat spot at all & the torque factor is amazing. It went from around 5,200nm to 6,800nm & your head gets knocked back in the seat. So i guess i did'nt really need the diff gears to solve my flat spot.

So again don't believe in the hype, just do a little more research.

Holy crap! You must have a jet turbine fitted. I think you must mean from 520Nm to 680Nm. That's still some impressive torque though. Is that correct?

Hi ladies and gents,

Sounds like we might have to get that nice man named Dick over here to get these under powered cars in canberra all edited and screaming through every gear.

Just PMed SSFREAK and hopefully he has a bit more time than me to organise a LS1 edit meet to get our cars edited on mass.

Cheers

As above, holy crap. Are you saying your unopened engine made 242rwkw BEFORE the tune? I am assuming you have a VXSS as stated because if this is correct there are a few thousand blokes/girls who would like to know how this was achieved.

Hi Guys

Well simply i did most of my mods when i had 10k on the clock, so the car was run in well. I got 4in1 Pacemaker Extractors installed & Sureflo's X merge twin 2.5 inch exhaust. SS cold Air, K&N filter, SS ind maf meter, NGK Spark plugs, Magnor Core race leads, SS throttle body & 4 inch pipe from Maf sensor to throttle body. At this point in time my computer was not touched.

When i got out of the driveway from Sureflo i was'nt impressed at all, i thought i just wasted all of my money. But as the weeks went by my VX SS series 2 started getting more & more power. I done around 25k on the clock with my mods & my car was really opening up, i was curious to know how much power my car produced. Sureflo had a new dyno installed so off i went to see what the beast produced. The first run every one basically shit themselves, it went off the chart so they had to re adjust the sheet to measure the power. Then the car did a 235rwkw & we thought something was wrong with the Dyno or the guys did'nt know how to use it. We did another run & it went to 238rwkw, then a last run which took it to 242rwkw. The NM which the dyno measures is a little different to what you see in the magazines read 5,200nm or tractive effort. The owner at Sureflo thought it was to good to be true, so he had previously put his own car on 2 other Dyno's before & got around 205rwkw. So he put his car on the Dyno & it read around 206rwkw. So the figures my car produce was correct & i was excited about that.

Mind you i still had a flat spot, thats when i decided to get the computer tuned. I did'nt get more peak power, but i gained a heap of torque from 5,200nm to 6,800nm. Guys torque is what pulls your car towards the quarter mile faster.

Last but not least there have been developments at Sureflo, they have designed a straight air induction which increases the overall power as well. I put it on my car & it went to 249rwkw.

Also Pacemaker have designed another 4 into 1 extractors with larger holes, the guys at Sureflo tested a GTS which had a power figure of 228rwkw & all they done was bolt it on & it went to 253rwkw.

So i hope this info was useful, just don't always listen to what mags have in there because all they want to do is sell you their products. Just research & ask heaps of questions, if you have any more i'll give you my advise. I don't own a car shop I'm just an owner like all you guys out there. I have found a great formula that works, if you take it then it's your choice.

Good Luck.

I'd be in if you could get one of the tuners interested in coming to Canberra for a bulk edit. Anyone else?? How many do we need to make it achieveable? (of course I'd need a tax invoice stating "maintenance service and tune-up", but I'm sure that many others have this requirement ;) )

Hi Spaceman347

I'm not in the car industry, if you want to call the guys at Sureflo Exhaust on 02 9829 3158. They can put you in contact with Dick, but your end results will be determinded in what you have done so far to your car. ie exhaust etc.

Good Luck.

Interested Parties Please Send Me Your Orders For Ls1edit Through Pm. I Will Try To Organise It For Everyone. Obviously I Need To Know Rough Amounts Of People Before I Tell The Guys At Chipmaster, Dicks Electronics Or Delco.

If Any Programmers Notice This Thread And Are Interested In Helping, Send Me A Pm.

Cheers

OK guys, I have locked this thread for two reasons.

1. It's been done before, the search function is your friend.
2. Each tuner chooses their own tools of trade, not interested in another "this is better than that thread."
3. The PM system is to be used directly with tuners in question here, they are widely known and readily contactable.

We have had enough threads that start like this and turn into a full on fight fest...... enough is enough, not on my watch.

Please don't bother PMíng about this...........
