I've decided to take the rather drastic step of selling my VU SS. Put bluntly it's costing me too much money and as I only drive it about 20km a week I'm not really getting my moneys worth. I also have some other hobbies to pursue which require some funding.

Red Book.com is saying a 2001 VU Series II with 65 - 75,000km should fetch a maximum of $30,300.

Mine only has 34,000km on it and the following mods, amounts in brackets are the prices I paid.

1. Camber kit.
2. Performance exhaust system (2 ˝”) in stainless steel. ($3000)
3. ‘Chev mesh’ engine covers. ($250)
4. K & N Air filter.
5. Monaro cold air intake. ($25)
6. LS1 edit. ($950)
7. 19” ROH ‘Fury’ wheels, all tyres have only done 4500km ($3500)
8. Whiteline strut brace. ($180)
9. Suspension upgrade, Quadrant springs matched to Bilstein shocks. ($2000)
10. Holden hard tonneau cover. ($1980)
11. Tray liner.
12. Clarion head unit and six stacker. ($1500approx)
13. Alpine amplifier. ($300)
14. MAF pipe.
15. HSV front bar from SVE.
16. VY Tail lights.
17. Extended warranty. (6 years)

So what do you think I'll get for it. I still have the old wheels and tyres, should I put those back on and sell the Fury's separately?

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers,

You'll probably get more if you sell the Fury's separately but the prospective buyer may want them on. Provide a figure both with & without the Fury's.

As far as price goes, taking into account the age & mods, I reacon $35k should do the trick without the Fury's & $38k with.

Then again, what do I know :)

Regrettably this is an example of a much loved and pampered Commodore which is likely to fall victim of Holden’s constant model upgrades / end of model runout and end of financial year sales….The canny new car buyer can at present find himself
Puttering away from the new car showroom in a brand new VY SS ute at under $36,000…with one rare *S* model Gen111 recently offered for the princely sum of $31000 driveaway

Even so, for the astute buyer who knows what he wants the ute on offer would represent outstanding value when the mods are taken into context..imho

Why thank you markone2, let's hope I can find one of these aforementioned astute buyers!
