I would just like to get an idea on what people have out there! I would love some info on engine type, car type, mods, and Kw/Nm. please state if at flywheel or wheels (when you buy a car the stated Kw is at the flywheel).

Forget the flywheel, how much power at the Wheels?? Rear Wheel Kilowatts = RWKW??
311 kilowatt at the flywheel is about 240 rear wheel kilowatt, out of a five litre VT would mean you have supercharged it as its not possible with a standard manifold n/a

I've never actually run it to tell the truth!! It's been sitting in my garage for quite a while cos the supercharger brace is not actually bolted up to the supercharger at the moment. I've been meaning to get it fixed for a while now but when i get time off over the weekends, i'm usually too busy partying. :D I reckon i'd have major traction problems on street tyres down the strip. (it doesn't have too muchg trouble lighting up in 4th) Send me a pm if ur interested in having a look at it some time.

I've seen a stock VY go from 187rwkw to 212rwkw with nothing more than a GTS MAF pipe an edit.

Hello all! I've got a VT 5.0LT Manual, its HSV enhanced with 195kw. Just wanted some Ideas on how to get around the 250kw @ the flywheel?
It has cold air induction, and I'm planing to get a performance exhaust (dual 2.5") with high flow cats and Pacemaker extractors.
Any sugestions would be apreciated!

My maths might be a bit out, but 310 brake horse-power = 230 kw.
On your car, 230 rwkw = about 315 fwkw.
By co-incidence, exactly the same as my car.
I have twin 2.5 inch pipes onto standard headers/Cats, SAS CAI, K&N filter, fat custom MAF pipe and a retune. (Usual stage-1 mods ....)

i got a VT11 clubsport with bolt ons, tri y's full exhaust ls6 manifold CAI capa throttle body and a fuel air uni chip (no timing) pretty basic and got the shitty old original heads that came on the VT but still managed to put out 234.3 rwkw which i thought wasnt to bad out of the little mods ive got and the first of the LS1's. about to get an overhaul with edit, to get the beast moving. so we shall see how it goes.

Hey Brett - there is nothing wrong the heads on the VTII LS1 - as far as I am aware the heads haven't changed at all since - onlt the C4B has different heds with larger/better flowing ports. Are you thinking for some reason that LS6 heads have been fitted to later models? I do not believe that is the case.

hey beej, wasnt meaning that in the sense u took it was meaning it as in the newer VY11 has all the god stuff compared to mine as mine was basically the first model in aus and started with 250kw and now at 285, dont have the technical aspects of it all just thought along the line over the last 5 yrs they would have made little changes. thats all.

Thers a phew mate, CAPA crewman pushes more than 900rwhp on a stock bottom end! Some FI kits push well over 320kwrw, the G&D CAM only package pushed a huge 310kwrw and ran 11.6...

sounds like your mate took his car to a dyno that wasn't happy. i would say he could probably get that figure on any dyno. Has yours and his been down the qtr yet? The terminal speed will tell all about your cars performance and power.

SS inductions CAI made good by Chipmaster. (no more chokey above 4000 rpm)

.... There are bucket loads of rides over the 300rwKw mark and quite a few pushin over the 400rwKw mark.
This with a single on board tune in the PCM, not a spare "race" tune kept up the sleeve just to mention in the event power limits are raised. :lol:
The 300rwKw is no longer the 'magical' mark to aim for now a days. :)

My bosses mate came over from WA for the weekend and he works for some auto mob, not sure who, anyways he was telling me about a LS2 with a supercharger and it pulled 720rwhp:) not sure of any other mods.
Me= VLT, exhaust, bigger injectors, cooler, computer, highflow turbo at 14 psi, cam, 2500 stall and 292rwhp and 13.01 at 105mph street trim.

my vl turbo put out 150rwkw with 7 psi and 290rwk with 15 psi it has 38mm external gate and t04 ,xf throttlebody,3inch zorzt front mount and rvrything else stock i havnt dynod my vy ss yet it has a the new xforce 4 into 2 system i will dyno it after stupifd holden dealer replaces the gearbox

vy2 s ute N/A 233.5rwk or 313.1hp at wheels.only mods i have so far are genie xtractors 4into1 into custom hand fabd 2.5in system new cats/mufflers to match no rear resonater 90mm throttle pipe front of air box is completley opend up[where the crap little hole was] no cam heads or edit/tune yet.but there not that far off. :D

256rwkw on 10psi - this was made at 4900rpm and ran out of fuel so I detuned it to the eight which makes peak power at 5250 like factory.
Torque 581nm at 3500rpm.
Yet to go back down the 1/4!

Why would you want to pull an engine apart for a freshen up if its making good power?? :eek:

i have 237rwkw without an OTR and run a 13.1@ 106.9 on my first run post tune , picking up an OTR this week and back to the track to see if its worth 0.2 of a second. next mods are bigger wheels then. time to buy a house :D

I know theres numerous other factors than just raw RWKW when it comes to drag racing, but whats the explanation for the 1/4 Mile time differences being what they are between these two cars?
Profiles say:
XR6T - 1/4 Mile ET: 9.981
CV8 - 1/4 Mile ET: 10.351
just wondering what the drivers experiences with these two cars are given how serious they are!?

vt2 calais come out with 220 fwkw with those mods i rekon 240ish fwkw so bout 180 at the treads with a mafless edit i rekon 210 or about 280fwkw

probably somewhere around 200rwkw, if its auto add approx 25% if manual approx 17% that will give you approx figures.
also use the search button, this will help you out heaps.

Makes sense mate. I think the louvre people also make a CAI don't they? (And they're good for 10kW - so I've been led to believe.
