Now that I've got the Exec looking like I want, I thought it was time to show her off. Boys and Girls, I present "Steffi", named after what was Brocky's last Bathurst car (97 VS).

Looking good Mick. How long you had the plates on? You need a power up now - all the boy racers will be trying to run you with the new plates!

5.7 Badging from GTO, plates by Hewlett Packard and whoever made the laminating machine :nyuk: The orange/yellow plates are being replaced with black on silver before the end of the year but I won't see this combo on the car for the forseeable future, regardless of availability.

Looks great Mick! Nice work too Kris.
BTW, what size engine..... ;)
I like it. Sharp and stylish with some bite, without being in your face.

Very bloody nice. Like the Calais rear garnish, dresses it up nicely.
I was thinking of posting some pics of my SS, but after seeing your VT & the VX of XLR8, I think I might just hold off until it's a fair bit cleaner. :hide:

15 December 2004 - 8.00am - Steffi drives into PowerTorque feeling sluggish down low, using too much fuel and in desperate need of the TLC.
15 December 2004 - 12.00pm - Steffi leaves PowerTorque sideways. Nuf said.

Baseline run - 198rwkw
MAFless tune - 216rwkw @ 5300rpm when the valve springs went all gooeey. Looked like it was heading for 220-225rwkw around 6000rpm but I won't speculate any further on that. Tuning done with HP Tuners.

Time for an update. Nothing major mechanically since the tune, however a few cosmetic changes have made the car a little more my own.
WH LS8 dash surround plus clock, as well as single DIN head unit.

And I've just added a set of Calais horns that Santa sent along. Nice and loud! I'm planning on following a couple of the how-to's on the forum, including PCM relocation, valve springs and the Schwarzy/GUV method of shortening the gearshift. Hmmm...

Correct taste in radio stations too!
QIKMIK

Yep, it's the 5105. The intention when purchased was to use the DVD MP3 functionality and maybe get a screen later. Now thinking of putting it in the wife's wagon with a screen for the kids and getting a basic MP3 unit for myself.
Love the JJJs! Half their music is crap, the other half is tops and it used to be great with all the traveling I did. Don't have to spend time finding a new favourite station every time I move.

We'll see how all the other stuff goes, but I've managed to pick up some FE2 springs for the new girl that'll go in a soon a we can. I bought the new one so I only had one car to tempt me. I really enjoyed driving the new one when we picked it up, then got back into mine and thought it felt a bit small, maybe a bit old....then I passed a truck, two cars and a bike on the way to work this morning (in third mind you) and felt much better. :)
Brad: lovin' Canberra but still missing the Queensland crowd. I actually think the car looks a bit like a VE version of Kris's Berlina.
Steve: I'll wait and see how the fuel/maintenance budget goes and it might get a tune and exhaust at some point.

Hi Mick,
Looks Good
You got away with the exhaust so the debadging should be easy to get away with. lol
Have you lowered it yet???

As I said I've managed to pick up a set of SSV springs for it but the cost of fitting is a bit much. Best quote I've had so far is around $350 just for fitting when Luke from Wholesale will do a set of Kings SL for $550ish fitted so unless someone in the Canberra area has some of the tools and the know-how to change them, I'll have to wait until the coin turns up. Can't wait though. :eyes:
Mick
Love the new ride Mick - very nice :)
