Hey guys, if you are gonna make a good vid (which this one is), PLEASE DON'T COMPRESS THE CRAP OUT OF IT! Especially the sound.

It SHOULD sound like a 5.7l LS1 on the limiter most of the time, instead it sounds like a 1.5l Excel with a hole in the exhaust!

The Video quality is acceptable, but sound is too tinny and lacking depth with my sub and speakers.

Good work though,

Jeff.

I believe that you are doing the "save to my computer" then letting it choose "best quality for playback on my computer (recommended)". This is 320x240 resolution Video with 340 Kbits/second and 32,000hz Stereo 16bit Audio.

If you select "show more choices" then "other settings" and choose "video for broadband (512 Kbps)", this will select 320x240 resolution Video with 512 Kbits/second and 44,100hz Stereo 16bit Audio.

This should increase the audio and video quality, but obviously the file size will be bigger, by about 30-40%.

I also noticed that it is 30 frames per second, probably as a result to NTSC format somewhere alone the line (either the handycam or Movie Maker). We use PAL and it should be 25 frames per second...makes no difference on a computer, but if you were to put it onto a DVD or VCD it would have to drop 5 frames every second, unless you make an NTSC disc.

Ohh yeah, I am no expert, so if anybody has info that proves I am wrong, please let me/us know!

regards,

Jeff.

yeh, must agree, dont compress the hell out of the movies if you can help it, we need them in all their glory.. i usually do two copies of mine, a low bandwidth (similar to what you have provided) and a high bandwidth, which is usually quite large, but retains alot more quality. Top job, BTW.. got any more crewie movies? maybe someone should design Robbie a in car camera mount, so terrified passengers can get on with holding on, and not trying to video the ride :)
