VY-VZ rear ends

I'm sure many people have this question in mind so I may as well ask it.

Didn't you guys think the design of the VY-VZ rear end looked way to similar to the magna?

it taken me 2 years to grow on me, which isn't what you need on such a design change. liked the front change however.

I love the front end but hated the rears on the VY and WK range. I would have upgraded sooner except i cant get over the rears. I like the new WL lights but the overall design isnt as nice as the WH rear (still, nothing was as bad as the VS Stato). Even the Grange had me waiting for the new model and hoping it got better. Personally the WH series Stato/Caprice/Grange was the best looking of them all.

The new caprice Ad on TV makes me want one though. Your marketing guys did well on that. I'd like to see 18's standard and upgraded brakes on these larger cars, even of its just the new monaro spec. One brake fire/failure on mine proved how bad the stock brakes are

I loved the front of the VY SS but wasn't that impressed at first with the rear, although I quickly grew to like it, after all I do have an early september 2002 VY SS.

I love the VY front end and, having seen a few on the road, I think the VZ is a definite improvement on an already aggressive looking car. I've never minded the rear end, but the missus thinks they are Magna-ish.

Sorry Voodoo but I prefer the WK Caprice over WH. The WK Statey has WAY too much chrome, but the big fella is nicely understated. As for WK Grange......great from every angle except the rear. There is too many lines/joins in the lower section of the rear bar and the number plate recess looks out of place.....lots of straight line and then a curve into the plate itself. It sort of put me off the whole car. If they could make the lower section more like Caprice with a skirt extension, it would look better.

Im told the HBD kit for the WL caprice is REALLY nice but no dealer can show me one. Im sure it wouldnt take much for a decent salesperson to put me into one ..... but ive never met one yet. Even this car i had to ask them if they were actually there to sell a car as nobody wanted to.

I asked the other half last year if she wanted to update to the VY SS but was answered with an emphatic "No!" as she thought the rear end was from a Magna as well.

So we kept the VX.... but I haven't had a chance to check out the VZ yet.

The front on the VY was at least as good as the VT but hated the rear. For some reason IMO the front is really commodore-ish even though no other commodore had looked like it, which was a good thing.

the stato's look like and back end has been chopped off, like it's missing something.
