I just like to say that the SSX concept design was by far the best thing Ive ever seen in a car to date. Everything from the exterior shape, lift back, drop down tailgate, flat drop down rear seat, AWD, and the colour. What more could you ask for, why wouldnt the public take it in with open arms. Me especially am still waiting for the full production version.

I have always said that if the SSX went into production then I would buy one for sure. So for the time being I will have to wait and see if the idea ever get's put into production. At the moment I think the closest thing to the SSX would be the Coupe 4 which is tempting but doesn't come with the versatility that the SSX had to offer. :p
Hell .........I'd be happy if only the headlights and tail light got put into production cause I already have the SSX front end on my SV8, just need the ligths to go with it. :D

It's great to see people are still talking about the SSX, it was a fantastic project to work on and I think you'll see the influence live on. Already, as you've mentioned, the AWD drivetrain has been put into production in the HSV Coupe4 and you can see some SSX design cues on the front end of the VZ Monaro. The SSX was based on our V-car platform and led us to consider a similar type of vehicle, on an all-new platform, which became the Torana concept.
We certainly had a lot of fun with the SSX, not only with the car but also with the launch! Getting the rights to use the launch song (Evie, recorded by my mates in Rollerball - www.rollerballrock.com) on the same day we were shooting the video, making special racesuits for the models at the show (I still have one of the suits) and more. At the time the SSX was the biggest and most expensive showcar Holden had ever created. The lessons learned designing and building that car have been used to even greater effect on Torana... I can't wait to see the next one!
