Ok, I lurve the sound of my old 5.0L EFI V8, but I can admit that the Gen3 is a much more powerful engine.
I have only ever heard one Holden LS1 that gave me horn.
I am yet to hear one that gets me as excited as my 304.

So I urge you to record the sound of your LS1 revving/driving etc and post it up here. Then please provide details of the major contributing mods relevent to ur note (exhaust mods etc).

Always remind me of the sound of V8 Supercars for some reason, maybe its the fireing order (the main reason the LS1 sounds different to the 5.0 based donks).

Anyone that heard Doughboy's GTS know's what I mean........ :cool:

Some nice sounding engines there. But one thing I've always wondered is why LS1's never have a loud idle. Is it just that people choose to have it quiet down low or isn't it really possible to get a loud idle but not have it overpowering when you put your foot down?

That's what I love about the 5L's, you could almost mistake mine for a carby below about 1200rpm.

(It probably sounds a bit different now that I have a PROPER 2.5" twin system on it.. this is when both pipes where routed out one side)...

It's a bloody terrible bit of road..... actually the braking area is pretty average as well. Worst part about it is, I was running with the tailgate down (which had just been resprayed after a minor reversing incident) and it ended up absolutely trashed after that day - stone chips everywhere.

Needless to say I'll be removing it altogether next time out (10 days away) but it's all a bit too little too late...

That Skyline - slicks and front runners and NOS.
But it got out in 1.63 to my 1.68

I started about a sec before he started moving and he blasted past and crossed line at abt 135mph and near 10.0

Had 2 great races with a Blue-Green Capri with a lady driver. Beat it once and red lighted once but each time was out much faster but could see it climbing back onto me in the last 320 feet.
