Hi guys,
This is my first post, apologies in advance if these areas have previously been covered. I met a guy 2 Saturday nights ago in Sydney (I missed his name but he has a Silver HSV Clubsport) who recommended I have a look here for all Holden info.
Well it works as I have spoken with Wistful Tinting (from a post I read) who will have some work from me shortly.
I have ordered a manual SV6 back in late September, as per the dealer I "may" have this by Friday week. My questions are:
(1) Have opted for the LSD, how do I know it has been fitted? Is there a code added to the build plate that's in the engine bay?
(2) Dealer has given me a "3 year service program" & "6 year extended warranty" That's fine but after 3 years the car will go to the company that currently services my VX (not a Holden dealer), do I then loose the remainder of the extended warranty?

Thanks in advance,

Nolz

question 1...jack the car up so that both wheels are off the ground spin one wheel and if you have LSD the opposite wheel will spin the in teh same direction

question 2...for the extended warranty to be valid it has to be serviced at the same service centre. so u will lose ur extended 3 yrs after the first three years if u get it serviced at another dealer even if it is a holden.

Now thats answered let me be the first to congratulate you on your purchase and make sure you give the forum your own personal views of what the car is like and how it is going for you.

Once again congrats you lucky bastard! :D

I am thinking of buying the same car early next, and was wondering what sort of $$'s you paid, if you don't mind me asking, and did you get leather? Thanks, hope you enjoy the new wheels and I look forward to reading your review/comments. delftssute

Hey joeboss & delft,
I spoke with Shane and he obviously knows his stuff, price is good also.

Did a bit of research on the "value" of my trade (VX S 2001 M5)
Seems the on-road for the SV6 is 42,000. Bottom line being the changeover 24,000. (not so great) Since placing the original order I have changed from Redhot to Impulse and added the LSD (more $). I went to 4 dealers over a few weekends, only 2 called back to chase the sale.
Passed on the leather & side airbags.
Rgds,
