Folks,
I'm about to lease a new VZ Monaro but for the life of me have only seen two of them on the roads, NONE on the showroom floors at all. Have they been released yet? I want to see the new Turismo Blue in the flesh as I feel the Devil Yellow looks dated on the new shell. Then again, seeing the yellow in the flesh might change my mind.
Anywhere in Melbourne Eastern Suburbs (I'm in Wantirna off Burwood Hwy) that I can see them in the flesh to make a personal judgement? Any recommendations of where to buy from, best price scenario for VZ model with Bluetooth module and Sunroof?
I've heard people make mention to Doncaster Holden but are there others out there willing and able to provide service above and beyond, from your personal experiences that is.
This is my first new car purchase ever, after owning the lovely EA for the past 10 years.
Thanks in advance,
Steve

Up here in Sydney I've seen a few at a couple of dealer showrooms. I also saw a Yellow one, it was a media car all the journo's drive around. The Turismo Blue was at the motorshow, personally it didnt do anything for more.
If your leasing the car, not sure if its a novated lease of what, but can't you get the leasing company to organise you the best possible price etc? I know a few ppl who leased a few cars, and they always get better deals through the leasing companies.

That's correct. The main focus of the post was to be able to look at the car in the flesh so I can make a decision on color without just blindly ordering it through the leasing company.
Thanks again.

I kinda wish I waited, but then I think about the $11k off retail I saved buying a runout. :D

Having seen so many of the VZ Monaro around now (minimum two every day recently) I would get a series III CV8 over the new one if purchasing right now based on looks. The scoops really mess with the cars lines and I think the original CV8 just has a more cohesive look to it. Just my opinion though.
Ballan Holden in Werribee have a blue one in the showroom (and had a dark grey one out the back) and the Holden Dealer next to the Western Bulldogs football ground in Barkly St Footscray (can't recall dealer name) has a black one in the window. Have seen plenty in Dealerships but none on the road yet...actually seen 3 or 4 LHD Pontiacs but not one single VZ Monaro and I do 75kms a day....maybe the GMH plant is having issues??????
ps. I'm told mine will be available on the 29th November, been waiting 3 weeks already, and hanging out big time.

Saw a shiney red VZ Monaro on Elgar Rd in Box Hill this morning with dealer plates on. Was prolly from Doncaster Holden, thats the closest Holden dealer to that area I think. Anywho, it was very noice :D If I didn't have to go to uni i would have followed it!

Well, I finally had a few spare minutes this weekend to head on to Ferntree Gully Holden on Burwood Hwy but didn't see any VZ Monaros there. I did see a yellow XR6 at the for dealership. Made me think twice as I thought they were selling a 2nd hand Monaro. On closer inspection, the yellow certainly doesn't do the XR6 any favors.
Anyway, heading on home I pull up at a set of lights outside Knox City and see a black VZ Monaro turning right. Arrow goes green and it is actually doing a u-turn so I wind the window down to hear the exhaust as it comes past and my my does it sound sweet. It is tough I must say and he was definitely not revving it so it sounded great even at lowish (sub 3k) revs.
Yumbo Chumbo.

Ok, still no sightings in car yards.
I've had a chance to check out 3 dealerships on Burwood Hwy, my drive home, from Toorak Rd section all the way to Ferntree Gully. NONE had the new VZ with one having the new HSVZ Coupe and Coupe4.
I'm still hanging out to see the new Tursimo Blue in the flesh. Leasing is looking likely to occur late next week and I don't want to delay it if I still haven't chosen a color yet. Would also like to see the Odyssey color.
P.S. Why no blue leather option on the Quicksilver models? Or even purple for the interior of the Devil Yellow - a great complimentary color me thinks.
Cheers,
Steve

I was pleasantly surprised, looked pretty good, not as crass as I thought it may look from magazine shots.

Ok, spent a few hours today and around 100kms of travelling around the south eastern dealerships of Melbourne and could not find one turismo blue Monaro. Speaking to the reps, they say it's a hard colour to find on any lot period.
One dealership told me Holden are only making 50 Monaros in Turismo blue and 50 in Devil Yellow per month. The wait for a Turismo blue is post Christmas if you're thinking of buying, as am I. He also said there's been a delay on the blue color hitting dealerships because Holden had issues with getting the paint right. Issues have been resolved so should start appearing soon.
Also, can anyone confirm if the Turismo Blue color is a metallic color at all. I've heard conflicting reports from both dealerships and press.
Cheers,
Steve
my local dealer here in mudgee has a "new blue" (is that turisimo?) one on the lot.. looks horn as, wish i had the folding required for it :(

I haven't seen a VZ Monaro on the road yet, but I did see a new Pontiac GTO in yellow with the bonnet scoops and everything drive past me today. Big left hand drive sticker across the back. I wanted to go chase him to take photos but I had people in the car :bash:
Those scoops really don't go well with the GTO grill, but I bet it will still turn heads. I noticed it coming from a mile away.

I spotted a black one here in Sydney today, looked bloody awesome.
I've seen a few silver ones also, and I still think silver is the colour to go for. Unfortunately they've deleted the Blue leather with silver option.
I always also see a yellow monaro with Victorian plates, CV-805, thats a press car that all the journo's keep driving around, and each time i've seen it around, the guys are giving it some real stick! It sounds bloody awesome!
I must also say I've seen one in the oddessy colour, thought it was nice, but if ur thinking about it, I'd say silver is a safer bet!
And as for the Turismo colour, I'm quite sure it's a solid colour, not mica/pearl involved, but I really didnt think it was anything special when I saw it at the motor show in sydney.
Hope that helps ya out! :)

Ok, speaking with the leasing company about ordering mine they said the earliest I'm likely to get a Turismo Blue with sun roof is Feb/March 2005. Now the other note they mentioned was they are only making 50 Turismo Blue cars per year. Seems very limited to me but then another dealership in my original travels had said 50 per month.
Either way, I have yet to see a blue one in the flesh and yet I'm gonna order that color. Something about it is drawing me to it. Will have to put the HSV Coupe tail lights on it at some stage though.
Cheers,
Steve

HSV_Senetetor 2 every day? Mate I wish I saw 1 on the road, seen a black, yellow, silver and dark grey in a couple of show rooms though … liked all of them … heaps of people I talk to say the older Monaro looked a bit plain … I guess every ones taste is different … I find the scoops a nice addition .. in real life the bulges/scoops also give the car a more muscular look (just my 2 cents worth). I also like the slight change in the rear bar, the grey outs (or black outs) break the colour up a bit giving it a contrasting effect I guess … only turismo I saw was at the motor show and on all the huge ad posters .. loved it and placed an order … although the delivery coordinator told me that turismo was a difficult colour to get (don’t know if that was b/s or not, but who cares), also on the Holden web site when clicking on all the colours turismo was the only one that came up with a little “subject to availability – check with dealer” or to that effect message on it. Personally all the colours I’ve seen in dealerships look great on the car and the car looks a hell of a lot better in the flesh than over the net or in glossy pics… pics don’t do it justice. Never owned an LS1 before just hope my decisions to go with an M6 over the A4 was a good one. Can’t wait till Feb when I pick it up!
PS: Tursimo blue is a mica colour the official name is "Turismo Mica" ... thats what the dealer told me and whats on the Monaro brochure.

I've finally had a looksee at a Turismo Mica VZ. Saw it on the South Eastern Freeway approaching from the opposite direction and I was sold instantly. Tis mine I tells ya.
P.S. What does 'Mica' actually represent? I've seen it referenced as Highly Chromatic color.
Mine should be here in Feb also. Can't wait. So close yet so far away.

I live and work on the North side of Sydney and I see way more Monaros then I see any of the other sporty Holden Models, I occasionaly see other SS commodores but mostly Monaros. I allways find it weird when People say the Monaro is not a big seller as I see stacks on the roads.
I to however have only seen Turismo once and that was out the front of the Holden office at ryde.

Anyone looking for a Fusion Orange VZ Monaro, Booran Holden in Cheltenham Vic has one on stands out the front, as well as a red one. Noticed the paint on the front bumper didn't seem a real good match for the rest. Rest looked OK, though.

Mynaro not quite sure exactly what "mica" colour is, havent researched the term but im sure a quick search on google will give u a million explinations ... looks great though doesnt it ... i too have to wait till Feb for mine ... But let me tell u today i saw a Fusion (gold) coloured VZ Monaro @ a local dealer .... man it looked hot (and i was never a big fan of the gold colour on the old SS's) but it absoloutely looked magic on the VZ Monaro ... i also think the Fusion is slightly a darker tint than the old gold colour ... they had a black one, silver and a couple of those ltd ed red VY CV8-R Monaros all lined up side by side in the yard ... the Fusion stood out the most ... although im happy with placing my order in for the Turismo ... anyone in the market for a VZ Monaro and doesnt mind getting a 04 plated one ... try and find a Fusion and have a look ... it really stands out.
Yep HSV_Senetor finally saw my first VZ Monaro on the road today ... it was black .. saw it in St Peters ... im from the inner west of syd so i havent really seen many VZ Monaros around yet .. though i do see a few older series ... avg out prob 1 - 2 per day .. depends i guess.

Mica are a group of minerals that generally have a "sparkly" appearance, which is where the "mica" in the names of metallic paints comes from.
