11.7 @ 126mph stock as a rock except for drag radials...

And scrubby kicked up a stink about the F6...

Is there a car that Treynor doesnt own? :D

The SL65 is still putting down conservative power, up the boost and everything around disappears as you go into hyper drive :burnout:

I'm sure the engine's got plenty of herbs left in her, MB's only problem is finding or more likely having to develop an auto 'box that can take more than 1000Nm of torque...

The remarkable maximum torque of 1000 Nm remains constantly on tap between 2000 and 4000 rpm. The 570-Nm torque which the AMG V12 biturbo engine delivers to the crankshaft at just 1000 rpm rises to 830 Nm 500 rpm later.

BTW, he's made it clear he has no interest in the new E60 M5.... for some bizzare reason that I can't even fathom... doesn't like the iDrive and styling...

Edit: He doesn't have a McLaren F1, but I suspect he's got a McLaren SLR on the cards... He likes his Mercs...

Great vid. Shame about the music though. I'd love to hear one of those things in full flight.

Assuming he was using the orginal tyres he has done very well, none of the respectable car magazines were able to get into the 11s. Not suprising given the car is 1950kgs.

Engine wise the SL65 AMG does look impressive at first glance however a 6L LS1 with twin turbos that produced 612hp at the flywheel with a conservative tune and boost levels would be seen a pretty normal on this forum. So there is no techology wow factor for me, just the fact can MB can replicate what many tuners have been doing for years.

Yes, but they do it with a full vehicle (drivetrain) warranty.

Well on the M5 board, he says that he ran with drag radials... perhaps he was reffering to a different run... I didn't get to see the vid before i posted the link thanks to Windoze media player being stubborn...

From the man himself (re: the vid times).

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1915675&postcount=17

"The SL65 ran 11.72 and 125.6 (also on different runs) bone stock. I was going to be up at Sacto this evening running it on drag radials, but it's raining."

ricekillman (from ls1tech.com) was the guy in the left lane giving him a good run for his money. His timeslips show Treynors 60ft times in the 1.9-2.0sec mark, hardly DR worthy ;)
