Stewards Findings

Thanks to Bigpond's V8 Telecast, here are the stewards findings over race incidents at Surfers Paradise...

1) Todd Kelly's car irregularity, penalty was exclusion from race 2 in Surfers, elevating Bargs to 3rd. (Funny how Ambrose kept his points for what appears to be a similar incident, not that I know the full details)
2) Rick Kelly's punting of Bright, penalty fined $5,000 and penalised 50 championship points. Plead Guilty straight up seemingly.
3) Ambrose's post race 1 brake test of R.Kelly, penalty $10,000 suspended till 31/12/05, needs to be a good boy till then. Not sure if this included his verbal assult on Rick as well.

Hopefully I have remembered it all fairly correctly.

They had this on the Panelbeaters radio show last night.
The penalty to Kelly (older version) for his cars irregularities is now the standard penalty that will be given for that type of infringement. I have heard Mr Skaife admitted their error at a press conference. The press also didn't know about it which upset "the other camp" as there was no bad publicity like the Ambrose case when his car had its extra wire. They did mention though that they didn't have it confirmed til 5 days later that there was a problem as the PCM or wiring took 5 days to process.

The Kelly (young version) and Ambrose helmet inspection exercise has been deemed to be worthy of investigation although on the radio, Kelly the Younger said it was a non event...just heated words like most weekends between various drivers. He didn't really think it worthy of investigation. Only problem was it was on TV, unlike most of the others, which happen out the back or in the sheds!!!!!!

The PWR ECU infringment at the Clipsal 500 didn't garner much press either, which is why everyone is comparing the HRT incident to the SBR one only. Not fair really.
