Head and Cam Package

Well Guys, i finally made the big drive down to sydney from cairns. all 2800 or so kilometeres. ripped the car apart put all the goodies inside and got it back together. Used higgins head comp camshaft and all other quality parts. first go and the beast started, took it for a drive and holly shit the thing was a beast compared to stock. Sonny ( SV300 LS6 ) did all the work on it for me and was the workmanship on the car was second to none, extremely helpful with everything i ever asked. never did anything in the dark and let me be in it from day one. the car was finally tuned by Tim at leading edge tunning and was very helpful. he allowed me to watch him tune it and spent alot of time on the dyno and road to get it to perfect. the beast drives so smooth and effortlessly. if it wasnt for the idol you wouldnt know its cammed. old ladies could drive this around town but once the throttle is cracked open its all over the road. absolutely fries the tyres and kicks ass. :D :D :D


id like to thank Sonny ( SV300 LS6 ) for all the work he has done for me. he worked through the night to get the car done and in time to get the car tuned the following day. was more the worth the drive down here and cant thank him enough for the quality of workmanship he has provided for my car.
Tim (clubsport R8) did a perfect job on my car and would likle to thank him heaps for the extra mile he did for my car.

would recommend these guys to do anything on your car.

hehehehe,yes you caught me out,it is that cam,you should have never sold it,its a awsome camshaft,makes power from the word go right to the limiter,and frys the tyres hard !!! it made 275 rwkw's healthy ,it was a hot day wen Tim tuned it and the air temps were soaring ,it kicked ass like that,hate to see it on a cold night !! :D

Nah, I needed the $$. I am just glad it went to someone that sounds like it was so suited to.

And too think no body wanted a 226 calling it to big.

I was confident it would have an easy 270-290rw kw depending on heads.

I'm just stoked how it makes power from idle to redline, sounds awesome, congrats mate.

just a Quick update on the car. got it all workin and tuned and its going very nice. new diff and clutch and it drives awesome. im off to cairns tomorrow so ill see how the fuel consumption goes. the car goes absolutely awesome compared to the old bolt on car i had. basically chalk and cheese. cant thank sonny (SV300 ls6) and tim (Clubsport R8) enough for unleashing the power in it. had a great experince down here in sydney seeing all the cars and so forth. might be back down next yr for a stroker :p

when i get back to cairns ill post the befor and after dyno runs from the same dyno so i can see the percentage gain from the cam and heads

Street meet on in Tville on Sat night the 27th Nov......should come on down for the week-end and put the beast through it's paces mate :D

got back to good old HOT cairns with out any problems. cant beleive i drove all the way from cairns to sydney and back and not one speeding fine even in NSW i didnt even get looked at. 7000 k's and no ticket so i was even happier. anyway took the car back to the dyno in which i always get it tested on so as it minimise and differences. anyway put it on and it was a resonably hot day and it managed to pull up 295.8 rwkw which is pretty sweet. when i first got the car it started with 191 rwkw and even since i met sonny the power seems to get better and better. so basically from a stock car ive gotten over 100 rwkws. The befor graph is shown after the last mod i did befor going to sydney. i still think theres a few more kw's in the car after a do a couple of things. i think the dyno i use reads a little bit higher then others but its still good to see what it started with and what its finished with. also with the torque the befor run was in third and the after run was in 4th gear hence why the torque is different, also changed my diff so was a bit hard to keep that all in the same playing field.
only thing im not to happy with is the lightness of my wallet. as i only put new tyres on it 27 days ago and i rekon there at about 20% left on the treads at the back so gunna have to loose a bit of the lead foot
