Does anybody know why Holden are saying that there will be no deliveries of any cab/chassis with new six-speed Aisin box before April 2005 ??? i.e crewman and one-tonner ???? I know a friend who has had a crewman ordered for a couple of months and has seen the memo from holden to the dealers saying nothing will be built until second quarter 2005 maybe. Is it a "Shit " box ?

I don't think Ford use this gearbox, they use the T56 and even then its different to the Holden version.

The Holdens use the T56 too im pretty sure. The ratios's are different but a lot of componants would have to be similar.

Sounded at least plausable. Who knows really.

Just a quick note Sooty66 was talking about the Aisin gearbox thats fitted to the V6 models not the Tremec T56.

Just as a side note have a look at both the Holden and Ford sites and the specs they quote for the ratios of their respective 6 speed transmissions. Seems the new Ford T56 uses a mix of both the monaro and SS box. AND. I was under the impression that the monaro now used the 3.73 diff in the m6. Doesnt say so on the spec sheet. Just different (slightly shorter) gear ratios in the box.

Hello all
Regarding the wait on six speed manual V6 crewman's, I have had one on order for the last 6 weeks and have been told, a 17th December delivery date
to my Nth Qld regional dealer. If its April 05 ...Not happy Jan!!

Well you would'nt read about it,five minutes after posting my reply re: optimistic delivery date for my crewman, my Dealer rings me and confirms it wil be April 05. :bash:

The option of stretching the budget to m6 with 2 extra pots is tempting.

Patience is a virtue.

Told you so !! Chris52 must feel gutted. Yes its only the Aisin box mated to the Crewman and One-Tonner models behind the V6. All V8's and Fords use a Tremec box. The mystery is,what is the problem ?? Holden will not say what the problem with this combo is and is obviously keeping a low profile, yet the dealers are happily signing up customers for 6 speed crewys. Then to be told you have to wait till April 2005 is just ludicrous. To Holden if you see this post come clean and tell the punters - : don't bother ordering a cab/chassis model until 5 bloody months time. bash:

Too right Im gutted Sooty66, 7 months wait from order date is a @#$%&*#
disgrace.Holdens initial consolation offer has been a free auto and even if I agreed to that today , the build date (not delivery) of that vehicle is 25/12/04
which is a week longer than my original delivery date - go figure?
As for delays only on one tonner/crewmans these two are the only utes with a one tonne payload, does this mean the Aisin box cant handle the load with a load if you know what I mean.

Any one else out there with opnions or inside information it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

To Chris52. Your dealer must be so full of bullshit to say holden are building your car on 25/12. I'm pretty sure that the factory has a shut down mid Dec till mid Jan for maintainence of plant and machinery, polish the knobs etc etc. When do you think anybody is going to get an honest answer from Holden or the dealers about this issue with the Aisin box in cab/chassis models ??? :box:

To micmansour, a crewman definitely won't fit down my chimney ... hell, I dont even have a chimney.

TO Sooty66, my sentiments exactly. Dealer tells me an official Holden letter is
in the mail and expect a phonecall....bring it on. :box:

As for afive month wait from now, methinks something fishy is going on.

Getting an honest answer from Holden’s or a dealer for that matter is like getting blood from a stone.
I have my own suspicions on the delays may have some thing to do with the diffs.
My tonner has had two and its only eight months old.
It’s been faulty diffs parts and assembly’s both times, not driver abuse.
Holden for god’s sake, these are work Utes, GET IT RIGHT LOOSERS and stop stuffing us around.

the Ford T56 is different to the Holden T65 in many ways.

"FPV even looked at triple synchros, but the re-specced box suddenly had all the ratios anybody would want and a shift feel and precision that leaves the Holden version for dead"

I asked sales about this on Friday and they have told me that Holden will be giving customers that had orders taken prior to Monday 22 November 2004 the following

Holden will supply an automatic V6 One Tonner or Crewman for the price of a manual transmission model.

OR

Holden will supply genuine accessories to the value of $1,000 rrp.

ETA date on V6 Manual One Tonner and Crewman is April 05

To Dickie knee,
Was that $1k free acc's if I waited for the manual?

To One Tonner, A panelbeater mate of mine had his VY SS crewman back in to fix the diff on his 2nd day of ownership. C'mon Holden pull your finger out!

Cheers.
