im thinking of using f1 Performance in blackburn VIC for a stage 3 cam package in my VY clubsport. Im just a bit worried because i don't know anyone who has used these before. I don't mind spending good money but in return i expect highest horse power and reliablity results possible. Are these the right boys for the job?
Do a search. Plenty of forum members use and swear by them (me included). Good blokes.

Mate they're a Forum sponser and from what I hear do fantastic work.
Not sure what Stage 3 is, but without specs at a rough guess you're looking at around 270-300KW ATW. These days doesn't really matter what you do to your car (Within reason of course!), driveability always seems to be kept reasonable, as does economy. You got an M6 or an A4?
Can't go wrong with these guys - very helpful and no BS, good luck :)

A friend has the CAI/headers/pipes/tune supplied by F1 on his VXII SS. Perfect drivability, better economy, no drone and IIRC 225kw at the treads, up from 178.
Sounds like an 8 when you tromp it, goes hard. His only problem has been the car struggles to warm up when the weather is really, really cold and damp. No other issues and he had it done a while back. He keeps a beer carton in the boot to block part of the radiator and redirect warm air into the intake.

I've been using F1 for about a year now, and am very pleased with their work. After using another workshop(not a forum sponsor) in the beginning my car was running 14.0 E.T. After being recommended to go to F1 by one of their customers, my times have been consistantly falling, to a current 12.20 in full street trim in a heavy(1760kgs with driver) R8 Clubsport. My car has a 232 232 cam, stage 1 higgins heads, 4000 stall, rebuilt auto and 3.73 diff gears, and has proven to be an extremely reliable daily driver, with around 290kw at the wheels. In conclusion I highly recommend F1 Performance for all your LS1 performance needs.

My car is an F1 car .
...... I always knew you were a 'great' driver. :D I had heard a rumor that Williams approached you before that sloppy joe got the gig in the drivers seat.
I wanna be just like Mike .... opps, sorry I meant Just like Grassy. :p
Cheers,
Dane
Used F1 on my VX R8 and will use them on my VY11. Not only are they enthusiasts but know what they are doing and determined to get it right.

I get my bits and pieces done at F1 and its been a good experience.
I started with one of they're Maf edits and then I did cam anf mafless edit, plus a few more things.
More importantly, there is always a friendly voice one the other end of the phone whenever I need some help or advise.
Both Steve and George are always willing to help.
By the same token I have never had any work done by G&D but have in the past spoken on the phone with Glen, who I haven't met personally but he is always very helpfull and forth coming with good info.
Its easy to see that they are right on to they product.

What?Ohhh I think there's a problem there...
Only problem I can think of is that the owner hasn't taken his car back to get it checked out ... could just be a faulty thermostat *shrugs*

Adam, you should keep in mind that this was in early days of Edit tuning cars with big cams. Sure there were some minor idle and stall issues but that GTO of yours was a gun car in relation to both looks and power. Thankfully the tuning software is now more advanced and we have access to many more tables.
Shame you have gone to the dark side. So when are you going to get into a car with a real engine again. :stick: A V8 with a supercharger or Turbo is a heap of fun. Cubes and forced induction, you can't beat that.

I will get an new car towards the end of next year im thinking about a twin turbo gts coupe
v8's are more fun but you have to give it to the turbo6 they are an awesome engine
If things have changed alot since i had my problems then everything should be all good :)

There is no doubt the XR6T engine is great piece of kit. 350 odd rwkws is stout in anybodies language.
Glad to hear you are considering the Coupe again. I am thinking of going down the same path also. Forget the twin turbo though, too much complexity for very little if any advantage. Single turbo will my weapon of choice.
