It was HRT's PR2, the rig that carries 2 passengers.
Otherwise known as the Lowndes roll over wreck, but rebuilt with a back seat.

I went in Greg Crick's Commodore around Symonds Plains about 1996-97 - that was pretty cool as I had been around in an A9X before hand and this was just a different world ...

Don't mean to big note, but I own the 1997 Perkins/Ingall Bathurst winning V8 Supercar which has been fully restored to as raced spec. 600+HP Chev,6 speed Hollinger etc. While it would definitely be a Buzz as a passenger I can assure you they are awesome to drive.

In 2000 I went for 3 laps with Larry Perkins then 3 laps with Russell Ingall at Eastern creek. Got to say it was good, probably a little more sedate than I thought it would be doing 265 down the main straight. Larry was basically drifting around the hairpin at corporate hill. Thing that makes them quick and surprised me was the brakes. You could also see the door flex and a gap of 1 inch between the door and roof.

PR 2 awsome thats all i can say Todd Kelly was the driver when i went out ,Brocky was the other .
This thing has a 5.7 350 in it with 640+BHP thats what we were told but they have detuned it a tad ,it is amazing how well they handle and brake and the exceleration ,is unreal ,i had the back seat bloody fantastic ,and the G-FORCE on the corners and braking WOW ,i even have bruises on my shoulders from the seat ,so i discovered lastnight .
Was great 2 laps of Calder Park not enough just the same ..
WHAT A BLAST i don't know how these guys race all day at those speeds ,Todd was not driving like a pussy either it was rev limiter every gear..

arent the supercars just SS commodores? :p :p

No.
If they are they are an SS then they are the BELMONT of commodores .
Get my drift.
They look like a commodore don't handle anything like a SS don't even resemble an SS inside and go a F^&%ING lot faster and use lots i say lots more fuel ,say 2 litres per lap at calder..
Anyway good fun ,will have some pics and a video arrive before XMAS had in car Camera with AUDIO and yep i said the f word ..

It pays to enter competitions and look what you get. Wayne had the ride of a lifetime yesterday, I missed out due to driving suit not fitting and I couldn't really get into the vehicle either. But my 8yr old daughter had a ball being with us for the day, I gave her my merchandise and she had it signed by Peter and Rick. Alexandra also got to sit in the drivers seat of the car, thanks to Brocky and she has pics too.

Haven't been in a Supercar, but drove a NASCAR around the thunderdome for 15minutes!

See the pics and video (http://members.optusnet.com.au/~jeffneil69/nascar.html) Yes, I did stall it, and it was left hand drive.

Well, havent been in V8 supercar but managed to get a ride a couple of years ago in the ESSO Supertruck around oran park. I laughed when said these are as quick as a ferrari, well, as we excellerated out of the pits, i thoguth it was pretty slow till we passed the gate, and BANG....like a whip this thing is off!, the brakes were amazing. It excellerates onto the straight and about 5 seconds later is on the 160k limiter, dobbs the driver then started to have a chat as until the braking into turn one there was not alot he had to do!

never had a ride in one of the current crop of racecars
but a few years ago...
(well a long time ago  )
I did get some rides in some of the HDT race cars-
6 laps round calder in Brocks VH racer
brought a smile....
and later I got 3 laps with him again at LangLang
on the speedbowl (in Harveys #25 car)
the noise, the vibration, the concentration is amazing....
there is nothing like a V8 (Holden V8 :) of course)
at around 7000rpm....

cheers

here in the states you can drive a winston cup race car around the track for 10 laps it cost 400.00 and is worth every penny.
