Ok I've looked at so many cars and still not sure what to do, maybe you could help me.
A nice VTII clubsport in great condition but 100,000 Kms, has full serview history though at a holden dealer. OR nice VXII SS 40,000Kms with service history, not quict as flash as the hsv. OR spend much more, live life on the edge and get a 02 monaro. The hsv and ss are avialable for about $30k whereas the Mon is $40k. Would like to keep the debt low(ish).
Is it that bad for an LS1 to have done 100,000kms? How much better is a clubsport than an ss?
Any comments/knowledge/experience appreciated, thanks.
I bet you could get a Monaro for less than $40k , thats what I would go,then a clubby then the SS.

Thanks Keen! I notice you have a coupe. do you know the difference between a series I and serries II 2002 monaro? And how do you feel about KMs is 100,000 to much for an LS1?

Series 1 had VX interior while series 2 had VY
No not sure about differences, as far as 100,000 km ,if l new the history of the car was ok it wouldnt be a prob for me , prefer an unraced country km car over 60000 city with hard driver. Theres a bloke on the forum with limos I think that have done over 500 000km. Get a Monaro , when you go out your front door to get into an SS or VT you will kick yourself every time you see a monaro. Your only here once mate.LIVE

Once our teenage pigeon pair are driving age (under 4 yr) its bye bye wagon HELLO Monaro in which the baby pigeon pair will grow up in!
No more 4drs for us :D
Get the best of both worlds. I saw an '02 GTO Coupé advertised in a local paper for $38k the other day!

I would pick the Monaro any day. It has a Calais features and very nice looking shape. In ten years time the Monaro will be the more collectable. It’s the sort of car you would like to hang on to for a long time to come.

It depends. All are good vehicles. I know someone with a VX II with 170,000 and no issues - goes like a cut cat, uses neglibile oil and still gets very good economy. Starts every morning with one lackadaisical turn of the key and has since new. Still looks new when he washes. VXs are still a nice, balanced shape and haven't aged lookswise. I think if planning to keep for only a few years this might be the go. Cheaper to buy, fit some brakes, exhaust and tune and it's up with Clubbies.
Clubby, esp. early ones - keep value well seemingly. They've gone down only so far and seem to be holding $$$. They seem to age OK, too, and I think the Coulson (SP?) seats in some are nicer. Look after it long term, maybe if it's to be a weekend driver and immaculate now, and it could be a good thing. Always an eye-catcher.
Monaro, well I lease my SIII and I think I'll buy it unless it gets a bad bingle or I lose my job or something. More impressed the longer I own it. I think Holden really cares about the Munro and it seems even going back for services and the like, they seem to look after it a tad better. Get use to being looked at - more a bloke magnet than a chick magnet unfortunately. The quietness at speed and comfort of the Calais-spec interior is amazing. Drive for three-four hours and get out as if you've just gone 'round the block. The fit and finish is just amazing for a Holden. I can't believe how perfect the doolatches (snick) and panel fit on mine are.
As mentioned, get a good one and keep it and it'll also hold value very well. If the Monaro goes offshore in '07 the Oz made ones will be cult cars, without doubt.
