I'm not aware that such a beast exists these days, or willl ever exist.

As far as I know, police went to 'performance' sedans some time ago ie SS and XR8 (talking NSW Pol here - my best mate is in the force, and the AFP - my wife in the force here :p ).

The idea of a special 'police pack V8' doesn't seem to exist these days.

Happy to stand corrected though!!!!!!

Will make some inquiries and report back - but if an Exec LS1 existed for the VTII, VX and VXII for both Police and public and then only a Police model Exec LS1 for VY and VYII - it might be that it does exist for the VZ

True cop car's arn't like the old xc falcon interceptor's, which used 2 come with bigger more beefier motor/gearbox and diff's. I reckon holden cop car's ls1's should come wif a bigger cam,ls1 edit and bigger exaust so that the good old aussie INTERCEPTOR can remain a car that can't be out ran. :burnout:

Gday gmeup - I work for a HOlden dealership which supplies cars to Vic police. We haven't seen a v8 exec since vx days but I can tell you that they are still on our state govt price lists. Hope that helps you out.
Cheers,
Clubbieboy

From my experience, so please correct me if I am wrong.

Like most goverment fleets, the police have been considering the three way balance between purchase price, maintence cost and the resale price for years. It has become a case of whole life cost.

As an example, this is why VicPol moved to the ute for their divy vans a few years ago, as they had better resale than panel vans and the box on the back could be reused, but you still see Ford divy vans (cost, maintence & resale)

They also considered Harleys for their bikes, several years ago resale was good but they were too expensive to purchase & maintain compared to Jap or German bikes.

In short, even though VZ BT1s (or whatever they call them now) may exsist on the Holden system, they would have to be financially in the Police's favour, above an SS or XR before they will order them.

I thought they stopped making these? Isn't this the whole reason of an SV8?

To the public you cant get them anymore, but the police can still order them.
