I got quoted $47,000 drive away on a brand new VZ SS (cloth trim).
It seems pretty good to me and was wondering if I am getting a good deal.
Has anyone purchased one in Sydney cheaper.
This is not a leasing price its a drive away cash price
Thanks
Jason
Well considering the standard retail price, add into that rego, stamp duty and the variable 'dealer delivery', you'd probably be looking close to $55k anywhere else. So yeah, for a retail sale, on face value it appears to be great value. I doubt terribly many others could go to a dealer and get such a deal!
For what it's worth though, we can get them on private lease for a tickle over $40k on the road - which includes GST. However : that's as a Commonwealth Govt employee via a business-to-business lease (ie lease company to govt dept), which includes a hefty fleet discount from GMH (this is the best bit!), and most importantly NO stamp duty.
This is via salary packaging, which is worked out as 100% private usage too. We also get the GST back via the lease.
Apples versus oranges of course.... but which path do you reckon myself and a few workmates went down??!!!! :D

If you wait till January you will probably be able to pickup 2004 plated stock for 3-4K cheaper.

Thats only $3000 odd over a good runout deal on the VY11 SS VY2 SS Auto $43800 drive away with leather at Eagers. Looks like those dealers that still have VY's in stock are trying to get rid of them before we hit 05.
$47k drive away for a VZ SS... Gotta be happy with that :D Unusual for a dealer to discount a new model SS for a retail sale (unless you have a history with the dealer that is).

Indeed, that is the 1st SS sedan I have seen offered retail for those dollars.. ;) well in Brisbane at least.....worthy of note however is the generous discounts now being applied to the VZ one tonner range.......naturally only in the 6 cylinder variety...worse luck ;)

Problem purchaing in December is it will be 04 plated. Soon as we go to a new year 04 stock will be seen as 1 year old, hence worth less.

Sounds like a bloody good deal to me.
04 plate means nothing if you are going to keep the car for a while - I bought an 03 plated clubsport earlier this year for the same as rrp of SS!! Different story if you only want it for a short time however

I agree, buy 04 stock in 05 and get a discount.

Hmm, interesting - I'm in the PS too and I've been considering that option.
Any idea what an SV8 could be worth under that arrangement?
