Guys

I am thinking of getting a custom plate from the Vic RTA (if I can ever find a decent combo that fits their rules, is within 6 characters and is not already taken!). I would be interested in your opinion as to what you think looks better on a VX, the standard size plate or the smaller one?

Thanks for the input

Its difficult to obtain a decent plate these days as just about all the good ones would have been taken. Then again some people get lucky :)

If u post a pic of your car, that would make it easier in helping u out with suggestions.

slimline without a doubt.. especially the NSW black on yellow, the big ones look stupid on late model cars..
my favourite dealer doesn't even deliver new cars with the standard plates anymore, all cars get the premium slimline ones..

Id say combo, slim on front and full size rear. That rear boot garnish looks a little empty with a slimline and needs a bit of rear fill in my opinion! Slim looks better on the front

I have a WA custom black 5 letter plate (blanked out in the pic I know) but gives you an idea of full size on the rear. It has a protector on it which is slightly larger than the plate itself. I had mock ones made overseas in slimline size and they sit high on rear garnish and look a bit out of place. Just my 2 cents!!

I agree with Raff, a small on the back looks a bit lost.

My opinion is slimline on the front & standard on the rear,& that is what I am going to place on my Monaro.I live in Vic & have 6 digit plates, which I will fit,as soon as I can locate some good Quality protectors that are the right size for 6 digit slimline(front).Rear is no problem, because plates are standard size.Holden number plate protectors are very good & are made by "Kingpin",but at the moment protectors in 6 digit slimline are not available, but will be shortly.Other number plate covers that I have seen have visible front clips which sort of curve over the front of the cover-look pretty average as far as I'm concerned-I've also seen others where the front perspex/glass is a fair way away from the actual number plate-don't like the look of them either. So I think the Holden/Kingpin protectors are best.Any other opinions,or information on other brands would be appreciated.
Cheers,Pickles.

Go slimline front and rear.
At the front it does'nt cover the air intake, and at the rear, assuming you have a standard SS rear garnish, does'nt look so messy.
IMO don't use any number plate frames/covers. That ruins it.

I agree, with VXSS346.
Use Slimline for the front and rear.
And (NO) plate frames/covers.
Look here at my SS, gives you an idea on the slimline look.
