Pull harder. BUT - don't pull the lead, only the casing. They are a tight fit. If you are complaining about the price of Platinums try buying Iridiums

I unplug the lead from the coil first then twist the lead/casing before trying to pull it off.

What size plug socket do you need, does it have to be a short one and are they a PITA to change?

I have the NGK Iridium BPR6EFIX-15 (http://www.gimmecarparts.com.au/search.cfm?searchtext=BPR6EFIX-15) @ $17.38 each, $139.04 for 8. Click here (http://www.gimmecarparts.com.au/search.cfm?searchtext=BPR6EFIX-15).

Not exactly to do with the subject but what difference do they make for that price. I have had 3 LS1's and spark plugs is something I have never considered changing from standard.

Hmmm you posed good question..Well was told Iridiums are in for life, never need changing, Gain 6rwkw with lead change too :D. Car just feels smoother, idle is smoother and spark is nautrally greater.

Was the leads change GMH parts or after market parts? If after market where did you get them from?

I tested mine on the dyno with the standard plugs then the iridiums and same power (actually 3 rkw less if you dont gap it right) Must be the leads-I will go on the dyno when I get some 8 mm leads

my leads lasted 75000k's. When i took em off all were curroded and 2 were almost rusted through on the tips. I bought some Topgun 8.8mm jobs and all the rough idle and power loss was gone (especially at high revs)

yeah this is the way i do them too, not a fun job. expect to get plenty of scratches up your arms when doing the passenger side.
prefer to do plugs on my 355 HOLDEN anyday.

i find the driver side harder. the other side easy. driver side the hardest is the one at the firewall , rest not so bad.

i use 1/2" drive, uni drive with spring loading, spark socket. come off easy with these and getting yourself in the right position

But not leads with the stock manifold :p

Oh, i also remove the cover for the PCM on the passenger side ;) And a 3/8" drive flexi head rachet helps :)

Why is it when I changed mine the "normal" small plug socket would not fit squarely over the plug? I borrowed another socket and had the same prob!

Needless to say I got them changed myself but what a bastard!

The plugs in question were the genuine AC Delco(Denso) ones.

They are 5/8 aren't they??

Aftermarket Top gun leads. 8.5MM if I remember right. You can get them from any good auto store. I paid slightly cheaper thru my tuner.

Holdens were asking round the 65 bucks for EACH LEAD... farrrrk that  . so went off and purchased 10mm Top Guns.. $145 the LOT.. :p
placed stock new plugs back in as they seem to do the job quite well...

How do you change the spark plug gap? I'm guessing jamming a screwdriver in there is not the best way.Does anyone know what the spacing should be for an ecotec v6?

Does spark spacing make a big difference when it comes to getting good performance out of your engine, and if so, could someone possibly quickly outline how it works? I'm guessing the shorter the gap, the faster the spark, but the less spark there is???

Also, are the NGK Iridium plugs all the same, or are there different iridium plugs for different engines?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! :)
