Hi guys, I have this dreaded vibration in my car, its a VP senator a4.. and i get this slight vibration at certain revs.. u cant here but but u feel it under ur ass and it comes on and off likes its rotation.. in say 2 sec intervals.. it will do it idling.. i rev it to 1200 revs it vibrates.. then it stops if i rev it higher, and when im driving and giving it some it vibrates alot quicker.. 1/2 sec intervals.
Just your thoughts on wat it may be.. thanks

ive had a similar vibration in a vq statesman and it was the gearbox mount
it was collapsed and the metal bracket that fits inside the mount was rubbing on the mount itself causing the vibe
try fitting a new mount and throw the metal bracket that runs thru it in the bin , you will see what i mean when you remove the mount

Its not a wheel balance problem ? I've heard of guys having tyres balance but they have a fault in them still that causes vibrations. Such as the tyre being out of round ???

It was quite a problem with these cars ,they had a engine vibration,(going according to you saying it does it at idle),there is no fix as wen these cars were new i was working at holden and you have to live with it,but wat i did notice is the more km's they got on them the worse it was getting,we used to change flywheels to balancers to crankshafts to tailshafts to diff length rear irs arms with cars with vibration problem while driving,it all made it slightly better ,but you mat have a lead out or missifire ?? check the basics first plugs, leads, cap and buttonetc, but was still there, hope this helps

thanks guys, its not an engine problem tht im sure of.. i did smash into a gutter a while back.. but after the repairs and so on it didnt vibrate.. so its a recent thing, ill check those things out.. im guessing its going to be a gearbox mount or tailshaft prob.
