My GF's brother bought a VU S pac V8 ute, and we got to check it out yesterday on Christmas day! Its the first time I got to drive an LS1 and a ute! This car was flying and tearing up the road with auto, wheel spins and immidiate response, I loved it!
I want one!!

I stand corrected. Ive never seen a S pac V8 on the street and i do a lot of K's a week.
Snip: From Holden.
Step 3 of 4
Choose your engine/transmission type, options and accessories
for your S Ute:
1. Select an engine/transmission type:
S Ute 3.6L Manual Alloytec V6 $32,270.00 RRP*
S Ute 3.6L Auto Alloytec V6 $33,040.00 RRP
I guess they were a huge seller too. From 203 Holden Utes (S Pac's) on carsales.com.au there are 4 LS1's.

The S pac V8's are certainly less common than the SS's now (since the SS's were such a well equipped piece of kit), but I still see a few around - moreso in the non-metro areas though
I want one!!
Hmm...like you I own a VS Acclaim, and once drove a mate's LS1.
...about 3-4 months later I bought one. Just thought I'd warn you. :D

Yeah, well if you didn't know they existed you wouldn't look for one would you? ;) :p
I think they even had V8 spacks back in the VS days.

Febs: you got it the wrong way around. I always look for V8's and never saw one as a S pac, hence why i didnt know they exisited. I did know there was a VS S pac 5L though but he was talking about a VU.

Na it was an S pac. It had no fog lights thats why I figured it be a VU S pac. I also asked my GFs bro and he said its an S pac too. It had a GEN III badge on the sides and then I asked him to pop the hood... :). Its got some other mags too, not factory and apparently lowered more. Great looking car. Me and my GF were eyeing it out lol

There must be VU UTE LS1, S-packs as there are a few on carsales as well.
here's one for an example.
VU LS1 S-PACK (http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.dealer_vehicle?vehicle_id=2051847¤t_rec=9&total_rec=47&sort_type=1&make_id=10&model_id=3871&keyword=VU%20S&state_id=-1&search_distance=25)

His body kit was nicer though, he had a proper body kit, just fog lights missing.

oh ok, thats good.
Must be a SS bodykit on a S-pack then.
Would look nice. ;)

I believe you can also purchase the SS dash for the S pack too, so you get the genIII (only 225kw), ss interior (still get povo seats though) for about a total of $4k less than an SS... oh and you get the poxy S pack rims ..
I'd prefer pay another $4k and get the SS

Should of told him to wait a few weeks, Mine will be up for sale! and they are rare, but not uncommon...and as for forking out the extra 4-5k for SS, I put that towards bigger rims, and super low suspension. :D. Kepp eye out in FOR SALE section on forum, will be up by end of week. Cheers.

Voodoo dont want to take a stab at you but the VU still had the ecotech motor which was a 3.8L not the new alloytech 3.6 found in the VZ's....

Thats why i said "From Holden" ie the web site. I was confirming the new S Pac didnt have a V8 option.
Lets not continue to wreck this thread though, Ive learnt there was a LS1 option in a S Pac Ute and there isnt anymore.
