I'm starting this thread for all of you GMH coupe owners to post up pictures of your cars. CV6 owners need not be shy either. Oh, and if you've got body work or wheels, please put the name of the manufacturer and product, just in case anyone else is in the market for ground effects or rims. (Oh, that and i just really like the coupes!) I'd post but I'm driving an SC400 still.

Nat: They are some very awesome photos, one thing I love about the impulse is that it never looks the same, because the colour is so chromatic it looks different in every different amount of light at various angles. Look at the difference between the first two photos compared with the third.

Nope, I ordered them from JHP actually, I like the VY SS wheels but I think the 18" Monaro wheels look so much better on this thing!! The way the factory should have made it. God I wish I lived in Australia, I'd be in debt up to my eyeballs but I'd have a good time will all the Holdens I'd buy :)

Thanks guys, Yeah the CSV's have awesome brakes, I was in CSV the other day here in Mildura and they had a VX Strada in there, and the front and rear brakes were just MASSIVE compared to my vy ss. I could just imagine how good they would brake.
And yeah they pull alright too, what model was it? 5.7L 305i, cammed 370i or the stroked 400kw version?

As the creator of this thread, I'm mildly shocked it's still alive just because it's so old. But for the record YES!!!!!! Every single one! I'm from New York and I get to see an occasional GTO (pontiac) and that's about it, usually owned by some 35+ year old guy who won't really push it. So of course, I'll go for all the coupe pics I can get. Plus it's nice to have a database of them here for everyone to see. :cool:

It pulled 212rwkw when pictured, it was badly in need of a tune (my old RX3 next to it holds better A/F ratios than it! lol: ). Since then an exhaust has been fitted and it will cop a tune on friday.

I still reckon it needs at least another 50rwkw to really move. :burnout: I've been waiting to use that smily lol.

Here is a couple of old pics of my MonaroSaw the second pic a while back on your site but the 1st one makes it look even better. The car is a #$##%#* beast, you've heard that a million times, but your variation on the Monaro theme with the VY elements is awesome. Visually, everything just works. There's my 2 cents.

Mate, when I was growing up RICE BURNERS were ALL asian cars ... that is what I was taught (older brothers, father, friends etc) so that is what I believe rice is ... I also know what younger people commonly refer to as RICE nowadays ... so maybe you should look at some Aussie history before mouthing off about being ignorant ...

You said it yourself, you "know" how younger people interpret rice so why didn't you type something else that would not have come off so negative? Indeed why did you even have to use that term at all? If you have of just said that you hated rotors it would have had more cred and not have incited any response.

Takes a fair sized set of balls to drive around with "TAXCHT" numberplates on a nice car like that. I could understand the humour/irony on an old shitbox. I'd be paranoid about any cars following me around in case it was the ATO's crack audit troops :eek:You'd think so... unless he's one of them ;)

Ghosn's Monaro is a nice looking ride. I also like the black GTO. The entire thread is filled with great cars that make me envious. Heck, no matter what you do to an SS the damn thing still has 4 doors! Btw, thanks for posting those pics Dimitri.

Has all bolt ons plus edit =233rwkw. Upgraded rotors callipers, pads. maybe in future will add bonnet for the moment binnacle guages ,Gto skirts maybe look at supercharger down the track. :) Cheers to hercules for helping me post pics.

Does anyone else think the color is awesome? I'm a big fan of Phantom, and I like quicksilver a lot even though it's quite common, but Turbine seems to be the perfect blend of the two. It's on the dark side, but not so dark that you can't see all those curves. Very nice.

If I wasn't buying the VZ in Turismo then I would have fought with my leasing agency to find me a manual Turbine CV8R. It's a great color indeed.

In terms of preference for me:

Turismo
Turbine
Devil Yellow

thats why i got this one. Was going to buy new one but i just couldnt go past the turbine only problem is that its a 03 model but had only 7550kms when i bought it six weeks ago. And also the boot space on the vz was too small after going from a wagon.

I look at the twin turbo Monaros and would love to do another Commodore however I know that everything behind the LS1 block is designed for less than 200 rwkws. I can't be bothered fixing clutches gearboxes tailshafts diffs and half shafts.

The Monaro is one beautiful car but I prefer my 300k/hr cruise every Sunday morning.

I have fitted a Larini sports exhaust and bought a set set of wheels for the Murcie. I have no plans to replace this car till I find a Bugatti Veyron!!

They were going to be available to buy in the states through SLP, but apparently the deal fell through with HSV.

The air freight was worth it :)

Takes a fair sized set of balls to drive around with "TAXCHT" numberplates on a nice car like that. I could understand the humour/irony on an old shitbox. I'd be paranoid about any cars following me around in case it was the ATO's crack audit troops :eek:

Looks the best with the roof tilted, would be nice now for the summer time just cruise around with it tilted, not only looks good but lets your hot air escape (hot air rises) :)
I like the brakes by the way, are they the PBR upgrade package?

Yeah, originally had it a deeper red, almost black with red highlights, but toned it back a little. Trying to get a rich white too without making the image look B&W.

Validation gives access to more areas within the forum, not sure how to do this from the states as you will need someone already validated that knows, and can vouch for you... gotta be someone over there that you can hook up with. Maybe check with a mod. on how this is done !! ..gotta drop her a tad tho !

My opinion and my opinion only (I'm sure not) but the rear spoiler ruins the muscle car look of the Monaro/GTo thus why it is stock withour spoiler here and pretty much no one opts for one. It really changes the look of the car (for the worse) with the spoiler (rear). I think more of the good old US would embrace the GTO (US) if the rear spoiler wasn't standard . Mind you the HSV GTO with it's specific spoiler and matching 19 inch wheels and body kit wouldn't be too bad either. Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie Oi Oi Oi.

I took the spoiler off as soon as I got it home,the emblems within the first week.
While I agree with you most americans do not.The 05 has sold much better because they added all that extra stuff.. They like spoilers and scoops and add ons and extra loud raspy exhaust even if they serve no purpose. I presonally do not like the 05 hood either. I think a nice rear opening cowl bonnet to let the heat out of the engine bay would be much more functional without ruining the smooth lines. But I am not the average GTO buyer,I bought it because it was a Holden not because it had some Pontiac badges tacked on it.
Now if they would just bring over some Utes I would be a very happy person..

As you can see, depending on the light, Turismo just comes up so different to the previous photo. And this is after attempting some color correction myself.

I've been inspired over the past few days with new coupes being posted and having just picked up my new digicam I thought I'd share the latest of my collection.

As you can see, depending on the light, Turismo just comes up so different to the previous photo. And this is after attempting some color correction myself.

Hehe, and even better, only 1 of the photos in that collection is of the car just after a wash. The rest are some 2 weeks into their dirty cycles. Still comes up trumps aye.
