Well, after the Christmas presents of the exhaust and the tune etc; I've gone and fecking well done it this time; I’ve scraped the passenger door along the wall of the entry to the garage at home :o bloody Sydney garages (too fecking narrow-have to back in against one side so I can get out when the car’s in the garage) :bash:

Anyway, the damage is mostly superficial with a crease where it 1st hit the corner of the wall and a scrape for 10-15cm after that. I guess the fact that I never heard the initial hit gives you some idea of how heavy I hit it. I think the damage to the finish is mostly clear coat as it looks like a milky type graze more than a scratch

As far as this lay man can tell it needs 2 things: -

1) Small crease ‘flushing’ out

2) Refinish to clear coat (maybe deeper)

Was trawling the web yesterday and came up with 2 companies, The Touch Up Guys and 1800 Bumper.

Anyone got any experience of these or can you recommend an alternative fix??

Cheers in advance

Thommo

Bummer OZHaggis. I did the same thing to my previous car.

I saw this guy repairing some Budget rental cars next door to where I work. It's a mobile service and he does free quotes. Got his card as I expect I'll need to use him one day.

Might be worth phoning him:

Hey Thommo

I did the same thing on a pole in the works car park
Thing is the dints ok to pull out but it also has a raise in the door aswell.
so it must go to a panel shop.

dint knocked out, rub back, respray both doors and rear 1/4 to blend paint.
luke brother-inlaw's a panelbeater or else it would coast $$$$$$$

and Sydney garages my car will not fit in it.

So good luck with it hope you get the lesser of the two evils

Thanks to Scott and Damo for the responses.

Managed to get the car cleaned today and it's not as bad as it initially seemed. Yeah there's damage there, but you only see it if you search for it.

Will get it fixed in the forthcoming weeks.

Cheers

Thommo
