anyone had a spark lead come off when drivin, happen to me today, just after a run. as I was comin home the car felt a bit slugish, and was popping a bit on backoff, I first thought it was a bit of crap in the fuel lines as the fuel was just below quarter tank. filled it up and gave it a boot, crap still there, nurse it home and pop the bonet. Damn spark lead just sitting on. the heat cap (or what ever it is) touching the extractor (heart beat slows down) thank god nothing was wrong with the engine.
then I checked the rest of the hot leads (and the burn myself on everthing else  )

Never had that happen but..... Driving my mates old VB Commodore years ago (Starfire 'power' plant ;) ) and a spark plug came loose and blew outa the engine and landed on a chassis rail!
Oh yeah..... FYI..... Let the motor cool before going for spark leads :D hehe

that the first I've heard of blown an engine from that
lucky it no happen to me
Has happened to me a lot. And that has been with 3 different sets of leads, always happened to the same plug. I haven't had the plug out to look, but thought the mechanics might say something if something was wrong. Plus they also put one set of the leads on too and it still came off. It came off with and without the heat shields too. So if you find an answer (maybe just change the plug cause the head is stuffed) let us know!! Hasn't happened to me for a while.
Here's the thread I had up on it.

Fence wire and 5 minutes work will have that lead staying in the right spot! Thats a very weird problem tho.

Yea I had one drop off at the drags last time out, thought it was running pretty sluggish (still did 13.5 on 7 cylinders)didin't notice the idle because of cam/ on the way home pulling up a long hill under load could definatly feel she had droped a cylinder. Was a bit worried till i found the drivers side rear lead off Whew !!!!!!
