Ive emailed the mods on a couple of occasions to get ppl validated that i personally knew and of course read the rules on this

Located : http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=31

Today i did the exact same thing but was told

As with the validation process, we need a second nomination from a validated user to validate this person.

Has the validation process changed now? If so it might be a good idea to update the rules to let the members here know. The person i emailed about is very well known so validation isnt an issue but it helps if you change the rules to let ppl know.

Might wanna read it again, still clearly states it.

You will need to be nominated and seconded by someone who knows you personally and is already a Validated member.

lol

My mistake. Sorry bout that. Last 2 ppl i emailed about validation were done without that step so i missed it completely. Sorry for the confusion :)

No probs, we have started to step up the validating of people to how it once was.
that way everyone is treated the same.

I give up, I have tried but to no avail to get validated, I live in North Brisbane Cashmere, 5 minutes from power torque, i visited them asking about new shifters for the six speed, gave the guy a hint but at least he told me to go to the Drags on the 29th, the only problem is I won't take my CV8 there to park it where I cant see it.

That's easy, if you enter you will be with your car in the staging lanes, and it'll never leave your sight

Plus the point of validation is to ensure the ppl that are validated are personally known to other members and are trusted. Some information in the other sections of the forum could be concidered sensitive. Im sure after a few trips to PT, willowbank and Macca's on a friday night people will know you better and be prepared to vouch for you.

At willowbank you can park near the LS1 office without a problem. I dump all the stuff in the boot on the ground there and there is never a problem.

Voodoo, I wen to Willowbank on the 29th for the first time (with a LS1) to meet with one of the other validated members. What is this LS1 office you speak of?

Let me get this straight ... you think that just because you turn up to Powertorque and enquire about new shifters that they should vouch for your validation?
You've at least gotta put in SOME effort to get validated. There are plenty of places out at Willowbank to park where you can see your car (dependent on where you spectate from that is)

You know that little shelter where we put our spare tyres, crap from the boot etc. At the end of the lane 1.

Thats called the LS1 office. Generally because thats were we park and put our crap each time we are there.

Correct me if I am wrong but who is it we are trying to keep info from?
Some memebers are police officers and validated.
Not a :flame: just a question.

They are validated but they are also TRUSTED. The main idea of the private forum is to have a place to discuss "anything that you don't want to be publically visible". That could be anything at all. It also helps when discussing possible warranty voiding mods or activities (drag strip runs etc.)

Some of the people that have already been let in have shown they cant trusted at all. Im all for a toughening up of the validation process to reduce the numbers let in

I know for a fact that information posted on this forum was emailed to ALL holden dealers and to GM direct.

Now is that the sort of information you want publicly seen or would you prefer some sort of validation to happen which keeps the majority of the members as poeple that are trusted. Would you like photo's of a nice 2004 VZ clubbie at the drags emailed to Holden?

Im quite happy for police to see the posts as i dont so silly things on the public roads, if others do and some action is taken thats unfortunate but most members here are reasonably resonsible. For a member to try and purposely get someones warrenty voided is good enough reason to keep them out of more sensitive areas.

I dont have any road kills mate :D Track only ones here.

If the powers that be allow police in to the validated sections thats up to them. It's not sensible to post about anything online that may get you in trouble.

agreed, and if you do, ensure you know your rights and what evidence can be used...ie NEVER ADMIT ANYTHING... I don't care if the cop comes in saying the sun is shining, never admit anything.
