Any of you guys going to Willowbank this Wed 5/1 for the test and tune.
Myself and a mate would like to try out the toys and also meet a few of the LS1 crowd.
Maybe someone will show us what the back of a Commodore looks like.
So if you are there look for a blueprint GT-P and a Solberg WRX with two bewildered looking drivers all confused at this big city stuff......

I wouldn't mind going for the first time.. anyone tell me whether it would be worth taking the set of 15's (with some old bridgestine grid 2's) or just use the standard 17's (Hankook k104 sport) @ 20psi?
Also.. has anyone played around with throwing some extra weight in a ute over the rear wheels (231rwkw & 3.73's) to limit wheelspin off the line (also into second (A4)...

You could try it pagey, but expect to run around 1 tenth and 1 MPH less for every 50kg or so you add.

Yeah.. i think i will try both ways.. I.e strip it down bare (no tail gate/spare etc) & see what happens V's 50kg over the rear wheels.
Interesting to see how much is lost/gained via wheelspin at the start with bugger all weight compared with minimal wheelspin but lower mph..
Personally i think that the lighter version will come out on top...
Flappist.. sorry for hijaking some of your thread mate..

It should still be a pretty stick track since the nationals were on the 1st.
If you dont have a stally you might hook up. Try 20 psi in your 15s and decent burn outs and you might get a few good passes
Cheers LEIGH

Yeah.. i'm happy to melt the tyres on the 15's :D Is there any problems running 15's on the rear & 17's on the front.. I've got 4 15's..I'm happy for someone else to use 2 if they want..

DON'T GO........stay away from any drag strip is my advice mate.......the need for more becomes a disease, a very expensive one if not diagnosed early, although no known cure is available, it can be tempered down with the correct medication....(well, so I've heard)

so...... standard 17's on front & 15's rear... any probs?
I can't see any short term.. the rolling circumference is difference (although equal either side on the rear.. so no negative effects on the diff)
I assusme that a (potential!) higher mph is possible too with smaller diameter rears ? (obviously providing you have the horses to push it)
