look mate my dad bought that for ma mum and it was only $3000 instead of buying a $7000 commodore, we had money left over to lower it and put on 17" VY SS rims, we have debadged it and changed the rear mold so it looks more like a commodore. most traces of toyota are gone. and with the Pontiac GTO badges on it well i thought of that when i realised that the Pontiac GTO had 17" 'SS' rims on it and anyway i dont know any other person that has Pontiac GTO badges on their Holden, i like to call it INDIVIDUALITY!!!!! look im almost 15 and know lots about cars. the modified car scene here in Drouin is mainly Holdens and Skylines and they have made their cars individual with debadging or HSV badging. just because your an old grogan that cant see that individuality is a major part of the modified car scene doesnt mean every one else is. and with your comment on debadged to look like commodore OPEN YOU EYES!!! IT IS A COMMODORE MAN UR STUPID

haha, right, having GTO badges on a bloody V6 toyota isnt modified, thats car abuse! and abuse of the badge GTO, its exactly like putting HSV badges on anything but a HSV. my car has GTS exhaust tips... maybe i should GTS badge it..

right..

its your toyota

Give him a break? :\

Individuality doesnt come from a badge, you don't know anyone with such badges on their Commodore because its a silly concept, its like putting a GTR badge on a Pulsar.

Why not just put some HKS stickers on it and a milo tin exhaust tip insted.

What is it with debadging? I see so many Lancers, Hyundais and even the occasional Subaru with absolutely no badges on them whatsoever. Don't they want you to know what car they're driving? Are they embarrassed? Do they wish their car was something it's not? I think I'm gunna take the badges off my car and replace them with Ferrari badges.

people debadge there cars because it make the lines of the car look smoother. and to the guy who said that just changin tha badge wasnt individual did you read the whole message??? the car has more than just no badges it has the rims suspension and way more and a 40yr old woman (my mum) drives the car and the guys around here love the car and they are cruising around in modified holdens. have you ever herd of HLOSN-8 (halucinate) well the guy that owns that car (a highly modified VQ Statesman) well him and his mates love tha car. oh and by tha way does anyone want to buy a 1982 770 Volvo???? private message me if you wonna

Mate its not a pontiac GTO so dont do it.
If I saw a VN Toyotadore with GTO badges on it apart from pissing myself laughing at it I would be ringing the nearest mental institution and having the owner/ driver commited!!!!!!

Umm isnt that asked and answered already? I dont recall him asking 'and everyone please express your opinions on doing it....'....

When I was 14 I had a different view of the world than I do today, though I did partially debadge my SS :)

Debadging your car is one thing, but putting badges that relate to a current model 2door V8 coupe on a older model 4door V6 sedan is really silly.
You might as well put a BMW "M" badge or a Skyline GTR badge on it.... because they have about as much in common as the 2 vehicles you're trying to mix together.

Your argument that people rebadge cars all the time is right ... but noone's saying that the world doesn't contain a lot of people with no clue/taste. Same goes for the blokes in your town who have stuck HSV badging on their Commodores.
Those guys who currently like your mum's car will think you're a complete tool if you do it.
If you want your car to be "individual", add some touches of CLASS from the Calais to it (chrome strips etc.) Just don't go and put Calais badges on it .... 'cause it's not a Calais either!

Debadged cars must be annoying for those scum that "badge" cars, ie. remove badges from someone's car with a screwdriver. I'm sure they must walk away dejected when they find cars that have no badges at all. :)

Hi holden fan, this is just my opinion, but I reckon you should completely debadge the car. Not only will it look cleaner, but you will avoid people laughing at it if you have it covered in GTO badges.

O/T but I can't stand service centres, tyre shops, whatever slapping their stickers on the back window after you've had something done. They want to advertise, they can pay me for it.

Cheers,

Scott

I agree entirely with the "no stickers" please rule.
I'm actually considering debadging my "Monaro" badges on the rear quarters as I think they look a bit gay. Think it will also highlight the body shape by having an uncluttered panel.
Any opinions out there ???

One of the suspension and exhaust places up here had a display setup at the Holden/Ford show a few years back. On it was a black monaro, totally debadged and lowered on 19" GTS rims with pitch black show-tint on the windows. Was one of the most tough looking cars I've seen. It helped that the paintwork was so immaculately polished you could have picked the dodgy lunch from between your teeth in the reflection.

XLR8,
I think you mean this monaro?
I agree its one tough looking monaro.

Peter B - CV8,
You can see here it does look good, without the monaro badge. :D

Yes, that's the one ... I much preferred it at the height of the first pic than with the bags deflated.

well, its your choice, but its still a toyota, and GTO badges have nothing to do with the car in any way shape or form. And as stated, would just look outright stupid and I wouldnt even look twice because id be to busy laughin my freakin head off...

Only 2 more weeks then schools back in!
