I'm taking my GTO Monaro out to the ford and Holden drags on Sat @ WSID, Just wanting to know what I should run.

I've done a set of heads and cam from Nathan Higgins 228@50(cam), 4into one inch and 7/8 , dual 2/12 inch exhaust with 3:7 diff ratio's. The car made 289rwk on C&V dyno in Sydney.

Today the car is being fitted with a triple plate clutch and a new fuel system i.e. 800hp fuel pump, Wilson fuel rail and bigger injectors. It should make close to 300rwkw.

What do you guys reckon the car should run?

Ps: I'm going to put a set of 26X8 MT drag slicks on it aswell.

Mate it's to hard to say, all depends on the driver as well.

RWKW means nothing really, for quater mile times. I have mates who are pulling over 300RWKW and only pull in the high 12's, while mine only has 226RWKW and it pulled a 12.9. You should be able to pull in the high 11's, but once again it all depends. Mate of mine has 219RWKW and pulled a 12.1 pass, with just basic bolt on mods. You'll be supprised what results you might get, but mate one thing though its HEAPS of fun... Let us know what you get

I'd say with decent tyres a low 11. Note im assuming you can drive well as a 9.9 in a VK is damn quick. There are cars with around 260rwkw cam only doing 11.9's and with head work as well you should be producing more torque.

Not that im the most experianced but good luck with it. Make sure ya get some photo's up. I love the look of the GTO's, especially in full flight

A lot of variables really just do the best ya can and don't get high hopes really.
All importantly just have fun. :)

If you are able to drive well enough to get your VK into the 9s then I should think you would be able to dip into the 11s with that combo on slicks. May require a few runs to work out how to achieve the optimum though. Is your car put togeather by C&V? If so what engine management do you use?

Engine was put together by AN Race engines, But everything was supplied by Nathan Higgans . Car was tunned by C&V and fuel system is being installed by them.

Why are they fitting a new fuel system? 300rwkw can and has been done using the standard one.

Mate if you can get a VK to do 9.9 you shouldn't have any problems getting the GTO into the 11,s.
Good luck, I hope you do it...

Why are you fidling with ur fuel system ??
mines making over 300rwkw's and the fuel system is std and i have never had any problems, the only thing i have change in my fuel system is 42lbs injectors and a loop in the rail, and i know alot of other guys here who have that rwkw figure and havent touched their fuel system

Driver / temperature / humidity / type of fuel / quality of tyre / tyre pressure / etc ... etc ....

Crystal ball material if you ask me.

Go to the track and have a blast.

And while we are calling numbers in the E/T raffle .... I'll pick 12.5

Make sure you post the timeslip :)

With that kind of power i would expect at least 11.7-12.0 @ . good luck anyway.

When mine has 1/4 tank or less it runs leaner out all the way down the track than with 1/2 tank or more then it runs richer. the stock fuel sys is all over the shop

Well , I'm back from the weekend and had trouble getting the slicks on so I had to run it on Street Tyres , Meaning my standard "19" GTS Rim and P zeors. First pass the car went an 13.7 @ 112mph with a 2.8 60ft , Second pass the $1400 dollar clutch didn't hang on, so much for a tripple plated clutch  The clutch was one day old can you believe it.. Well the new one goes in tomorrow.

I'll be back out on the 3rd of Feb @ the Test "n" tune @ WSID , so I'll let use know how I go.
