View Full Version : Finally Took Delivery Fusion Monaro
LE RUMBLE

Finally took delivery on Saturday of my Fusion VZ Monaro. :) Had to wait 2 weeks to get the spoiler painted. :( Three go's to get the colour matched as even Holden didn't know the correct paint code. Anyway it is great definitely a great exhaust note and it turns heads wherever it goes. I have had aftermarket 245/35x19's tyres and rims put on I wonder if the speedo is affected the height looks about the same as the 18's but when I am revving it through the gears i look down at the speedo and it seems to be travelling at a lesser speed than my old VY SS would have been.
I have also installed my K&N Filter and two days later the computer screen flashed on a Seek Service soon reminder after only 600k's . Is this because of the K&N? It didn't cause any problems when I had it in the VYSS.
Got some good pics but I don't know how to post them

Congrats. Service reminder would be because of the 1500km first service, the service reminder starts 1000km before they are due.
Enjoy it!!!!

On the VZ the first free service is now 3000kms and this icon is flashing seek service soon as a warning not a service reminder

That's fantastic! I was keen on one - I saw it and was blown away, I had to register here and post to see if anyone else had seen one - hence tigermon.
They look hot  Well done, enjoy. Any issues just take it straight back to holden.

Welcome to the VZ club Rumble..... That flashing service reminder needs to be looked at by your Holden Dealer. I put a K&N in mine with no issues. My service reminder started at about 2400Km from memory. The 19's may cause an issue from what I've been told but it can be fixed with an edit apparently. Hey you end up with a bit more poke along with the deal so it's gotta be worth it, right?

Congrats Rumble,
I have to wait until June for my Turismo VZ to be delivered. Holden are only making a batch of 50 Monaros in Turismo every 3 months. I mssed the March orders so June is next.
Maybe I could've gotten a Fusion colored one quicker. :p
Steve.
Congrats LE RUMBLE
Those Monaros are nice. I reckon the seek service is probably due to the air filter not flowing like the stocker. I used to have many problems with freshly cleaned and prepped filters on my bike it always took 20 odd kms for them to settle down and the restriction correct for the carb settings. IMHO I would refit the stock unit untill the motor is run in then fit and EDIT :D . I think you can reset the reminder/alarm by pressing the two arrow keys on the trip computer when you turn the car on. If it comes back take it to the dealer. My VZ 3000 km reminder came on the first time I turned the car off after 2000km. What do you think of the CAI on the VZ monaro I was thinking of fitting one of these to my SS.
Cheers

Took the car for a run last night and the service code didn't come on at all. I also checked the speedo against a GPS and it as near as dammit spot on. I think the reason the car feels different when going through the gears is the lower axle ratio .In the SS it used to lag b4 3000rpm then take off up to about 110kph :burnout: The Monaro is hitting the redline at 100kph but obviously getting there a lot quicker. :D Has anyone with VZ noticed a slight drone around 110KPH when cruising? Thanks for all the help guys looking forward to an edit after its first service

You are lucky because we built very few Fusion monaros. I can only remember about 15.

That's gotta be one of the most limited production runs so far hasn't it?

I've done 6k kms in my VZ and the diff is whinning like a b*tch at light throttle at 75-90kph, will these Holden dealers fix it or talk about it being within "tolerance" levels?

Damn! That is NICE! Peronally wouldn't have gone the boot spoiler option, but the choice of wheels and colour brings a very strong look to the car ... congrats!

Try asking them first...their ESP skills are a bit down..

Great looking car, the wheels really suit the colour, what brand of wheel are they? Wouldn't mind a set of those on my SS. Do they come in an 18''?

I agree, the rims look great with the Monaro in Fusion. Nice ride. It'll definitely turn heads.

Not so sure about that, I went to a car show a month or so ago and when I came out there was a VZ Clubsport parked alongside my VX Tiger SS, I looked at it and thought hmm must have had it re-spayed in Tiger, the owner came up to me and said I work for HSV and I parked alongside you on purpose to compare the colour, the 2 cars were like a doors width apart and we both stood there looking at the 2 cars and bugger if either of us good pick the difference they were identical, either there are varying degrees of Tiger or I have a Fusion VX, even the guy from HSV said I can't see any difference.
Would love to see the paint formula for both as I think it would be very close.

I couldn't resist taking another peek at the Monaro :p
On the spoiler... usually I'd say it's out of place on a Monaro but for some reason after staring at the car for a while, with the striking color, rims, and those flaring nostrils it kinda fits in! I can't explain it, it just works. The front end is aggressive and the rear spoiler balances it all out. Nice choice all round.

I think it looks the same too, had a Tiger VTII and compared some pics, looks very similar. It is probably the light that makes it look similar, very tricky colour to capture....actually very tricky colour to look at too as it changes with the light and at every angle.
Still looks ACE though, well done!!

Yeah I tend to agree, I wouldn't have gone with the spolier, but in this case the spoiler looks quite good in the picture. It could be just the angle of the car etc, but I'm impressed!

Correct they are XHP Sabers and as Drewie asked I am pretty sure they are available in 18's

They certainly are available in 18", My old man has them in that size on his car.

Congrats Le Rumble, that is a beautiful car.
The wheels set it off perfectly and I do like the wing.
I looked at one when I was getting my car serviced and cursed that I didn't know the colour existed when I bought my new clubbie (traded a clubbie & sc Berlina, both tiger, love that colour!).
Hate you
Enjoy turning heads!!
