Selling my show ute.
This show ute was built by Dave Bahlmann in Melbourne, for shows and cruising, with an amazing eye for detail. The car has been featured with a six-page feature on Holden Mania Magazine #4 where it was described as a 'Smooth Ride' with enough 'show' to dazzle and enough 'go' despite its L34 spec 308 to 'annihilate a similar aluminium 350 Chev crate motor-headed ute' at the Easter Nats in Melbourne.

Body:

The colour is a custom Dulux magenta mix. A year (part-time) was spent on the body, including two full weeks on the bare shell. The car is as straight as an arrow. Every hanging panel, plus the sill panels, were replaced. Three full days were spent smoothing the tray alone. The custom mix magenta doesn't stop on the outside, but is lathered throughout the engine bay and interior.

Interior:

The interior is white with magenta trimmings and highlights. The contrast between the paint and interior colours makes for a striking appearance. The dash is GTS painted white.

Engine and Running Gear:

Rob Hanz built 308, with Vandervell bearings, peened and polished L34 rods and flat-top pistons, Wade cam with anti-pump-up lifters and a rollmaster timing chain. The heads are cleaned up L34 heads with an Edelbrock Performer manifold and a Quady carby. The box is a M-21 with a heavy-duty clutch and a Salisbury with 3.55 gears. As described by Holden Mania Magazine, this car is amazingly quick for a 308!!! I've had a fast LS1 in the past but this would have eaten it for breakfast.

Suspension and Rolling Stock:

Reset (flattened) 4.5 inch lowered leaf springs and Pedders shocks with Weld wheels and Kelly tyres (back: 255/60).

Car's History:

The car was built around five years ago, and has only seen around 1000 kilometres a year since then. It has always been garaged with a car cover. Since being built, the car has also had a state-of-the-art Cyclops alarm system fitted with central locking and keyless entry.

Serious offers considered.

Car is advertised on the ebay with photos:
