Ok I need some guidance here.
Looking at getting my heads ported and I am looking at two options. Getting my current heads CNC ported in Adelaide and using my existing 918' springs. Or getting some swapover stage 1 HIGGINS heads with new 918's?
My springs have 10,000km on them so presumabley they are still ok  ??
The CNC's are cheaper but you get what you are pay for!
Any opinions would be appreciated.
Gareth
Nathan Higgins in Melbourne does great head work, as im told ;)

Just to add, how do the C4B's heads compare to the above heads?

As I understand it, the cnc process ensures consistent, repeatable results. Its a tool. like edit, and therefore the resulting performance will still depend on the skill of the mob who sell the heads.
Higgins obviously has a good reputation, and I dont think you would be disappointed with a head package of his.
I went for harrop's recently released cnc heads. 295RWKW with a 220/224 112LSA cam says to me that they work ;)

Apparently they're worth up to a full second (or more) over the 1/4 :eyes:
Go with what your TUNA reccomends would complement your package.

$880 for the pair in Adelaide. Higgins wanted $1800 odd for hand ported ones. Apparantley a second down the strip!

Yeh - but there must be differing levels of porting/polishing - valve sizes - valve springs( )etc as lately I've seen everything from 11.2 to 13's on basic??? head cam packages.
Is the $1800 for Higgins Stage 1?
What are full house ones worth?
Or is it an hourly rate plus parts?

Hmmm thats a bloody big price difference!!!!
Gareth Was that your car on sat LS1VX???
Was going to come & say g'day but went home early about 8, was feeling a bit crook.
So what was your best time of the day??? I think you were running 12s early on, which is pretty impressive.

Need to ask,
for the port volume and flow number details for any validated aftermarket cylinder head. Then you are able to make a detailed comparison.
Normally look for the highest flow, within the smallest port volume.

Nathan was saying something about the port volume on CNC's being bigger to accept the tool and they dont work quite as well.......

Thanks mate :D Was wondering where I can find out more about these heads. Im going for a similar pakage to what you've got, the idea of a small/medium sized cam, heads and 300 rwkw sounds good to me! Who did the work for you mate?
cheers
