Have been measuring the city fuel consuption on and off of the LS1 since the start of my mod's. Bog stock the best I got out of a tank was around 400km with and average 16L per 100km's, 420km if I drove it like sunday hat driver in the city.
Now after 3.7's gears (speedo & odometer have been recalibrated to +/- 2% accuracy), tri'y's and custom 2½ system & new O2 sensors, MCAI & custom T/B pipe and mod T/B & MAF, I have mannaged an average of 550km's on 12L per 100km. The whole time this has been done with 98 octane fuel.
The interesting part is the other night I was working out what the better half was averaging from here 1 y.o Mazda 323, 400km's with an average 11.5L per 100km's city driving with 91 octane fuel (also she run's the A/C all the time). I have now filled her tank up with 98 octane and will see what she can get out of a full tank.
I would of expected better economy from at 1.8L 4 cylinder to the 5.7L V8, more than 3 times it's cubic size.

They are suppsoed to average 9L/100km in the city and 7.5L/100km on the highway - she must drive like my fiance

BTW my BA XR6 is using 12.6L/100km in purely city driving.

She might be able to reach those figures but, who going to tell her to turn the A/C off? Not me I got to much to live for
