Well i went back to the emissions test centre this morning for the second attempt to pass the HPF Stage 1 TT450 kit and the news is good
Computer went back to Horsepower Factory (Amberley Autos) for a minor adjustment and we wrapped the cats with heat shield to help them fire off faster and she flew through, making it Australia's first fully emessions passed LS1 turbo kit
Congrats to HPF!
THC 0.26 max - we got 0.08
NOx 0.63 max - we got 0.56
CO 2.10 max - we got 0.50
The car was tested as it came from HPF with the full twin 3in system, 3000rpm hi stall, 3.9 diff gears and the lot
Now i really want to get pulled over by EPA
Now it's off to the Engineer and shell be 100% legal :D :D :D :D
Might try and race it the week now if the weather's ok

First ??
didn't APS get 100% ADR 79/00 emission compliant last Novemeber with there twin turbo?
for the kit each individual car has to pass the further test for sound etc like yourself did.
hows it sound with legal exhaust quite?

Two thumbs up Jason!!! The STREET Project is truly demonstrating what can be achieved within the letter of the law. This is a great independent service to the Commodore community!
Now you should lobby the group responsible for the Summernats dyno rules to only let cars run that can show their EPA and Engineers reports (yeah, yeah, how do they prove nothing has changed since the test was done)... Blown back on top of the leaderboard perhaps??? :)

Jason did it pass the full shed and emmisions check for ADR 79/00 or just the one they do for continued complience.
Was it the full cold start and drive cycle ?

not that i recall seeing it posted seeing they are back again they can answer.
Just going by what they said, they can choose to support this fact or not. just commenting in case the frist claim may not be true. first to be available retail may stand up, if aps can't proove it then your it.
i didn't make it to the sydney demo day APS had here. they may had had some proof there. the guys that went could answer that.
love your car got the best of everything on it. what happened with the gull wing doors did that happen ?

Was it the full cold start and drive cycle?NO. I just did what the Emissions guys told me to and passed :)
The idea of the project is to show regular people how to go about it and i did exactly what regular people would have to to comply for an engineers report

So it was an engineers report on a modified car, not a full emissions test. Good work (and that's how it should be done) but back to square one for aftermarket 'type' approval :(

Now now Lindsey. Enough of that shit. I though we had cleared that up. If you would like me to clarify. I tried to order one and they wont sell it. Saving up wasnt required.

C'mon Stewart, winter is approaching fast... Can't wait for that APS stuff forever... Just choose one of the "on the market" FI options and get franken-barge into the 11's by winter equinox!!! There's Fords/Imports waiting to be taken...

It's passed an emissions test on one car and run a 10 on another - what else do you want? :D

I have spoken to Rob @ HPF about the kit but wanted something i could get fitted by Mark at PT in QLD due to location, future issues and safety. I know the quality of the HPF kit is awesome but taking the car to Melb and back just isnt in the time schedual currently and the idea of having a workshop 3000k's from home if i have a problem isnt something i was comfortable with. Mark has something sorted for me now so its no longer an option. Maybe the next car ill order from Melb and get it fitted prior to delivery.

Its not like Jason to let the truth get in the way of a good headline (much)
The aps kit passed full emissions last Nov. All the info is on their website !
If think including my 1 tonner aps would have more tt kits out there than anyone else. All being tested for durability before the final release.

Are any engineered?
Have any actually been retailed?
Markt
24-02-2005, 04:37 PM
Jason I think all of Petes vehicles have been engineered and mine was one of the first to be engineered and registered as a tt.
None are retail, but none were free either !

Yes Jason, but remember we change the car all the time depending what we are doing, so how it runs at the drags with a glide and slicks etc, would hardly be roadworthy.
