Big burnout again
Left car in third (1 to 1 ratio) and walked it off the line and pushed the pedal as hard as I could and as fast while trying not to spin until flat
Tyres were at 22lb

Didn’t bother to check tyre pressures before hand (stupid me) and they were at 50lb which is where I left it until the last 2 races where I lowered them to 22lb to try and get traction

The tyres are BF Goodrich Profiler G’s – 235/35/19 and have just on 30,000k’s on them, I stopped after 5 races as I didn’t want to totally kill the tyres

The car was driven from Penrith where it hasn’t moved since coming home from the EPA test on Monday and from the time it left home to the time it got home it wasn’t turned off at any time during the night
The Air Con was left on the whole time as well until just as I pulled up for the staging burnout and then I had it on again before I got back onto the return lane
I wanted to keep it, as much as possible, in full street form where I usually have the Air Con on all the time
At no time did I remove anything that is usually in the car, which is fairly hefty thanks to the stereo, air bags, sunroof etc (will run it over weigh bridge shortly)

I’m fairly confident that it would be able to get an 11 with a bit of work but I really didn’t want to kill my tyres trying it so ill slap some Nittos (or something like it) on and go back in a few weeks. I know it would be an easy 11 with slicks but I would prefer to keep it as street as possible

Really happy with the results and didn’t loose a race all night :) :) :)

Nice results there jason in full street trim, must be close to tipping the scales at 2000kg with all the additions you have made. Some more traction and mayby let the thing cool down a bit between runs would get 11's easy.

Have you now got the bug to get the VN down the strip...

i wanted to leave it running to see if it would have much of an effect with the stresses of raceing but it ran like a dream

Plus you dont really get time for it to cool down when you're on the street

Next time till try other methods

Oh, and i must say a big thanks to Craig from Craigs Automatics. (CAT-12Z)

He built the box on the car and it has had no problems coping with the power and never flaired once at any stage last night

I highly recommend him

Well done on posting such an honest report of your times. Good luck with getting your 11 second pass. Thanks, i wanted to make sure nobody would imply im trying to hide anything
Would love to try to get 11's with the tyres that i used last night but i dont want to trash them as it would probably take me a while since im a pretty crap drag racer :bash:
I'm going to try some Nittos or ET Street next time round but ill still keep it in full street guise other than that

Dose this make me the quickest full emissions legal LS1 on regular street radials (not nittos/ETs)? :D :D

Good stuff, puts u in the "cam only" territory. :D
I take it there was lots of wheelspin action down the 1/4?

Nice one, must have been a blast!!!

Dont know how you'll go getting an 11 on 235/35 BF Goodrich Profiler G's, get some RE55's or other full street legal tyre in 245/45 running 18psi and you shouldnt have to much of a problem getting that 11... You got a video? There's nothing like watching a FI LS1 :D

Keep us posted, its good to see this info!

Hi Jason, sounds like the car should be fairly intertaining now, nice. I had those BFG profiler G's on my VT2-SS, they were awesome in the wet.

There is a Red Sv8 running very low 12's on radial road tyres down here in melbourne. Its running an unopened engine and no power adder so i cant see emmisions being to much of a problem.

Matt.

Red Sv8 ran all the 12 sec passes on Nittos from memory and hes now running M/T ET Drag Radials like the rest of us :p C,mon Matty dont forget to mention the 90/10's and 4.11's and OTRCAI

But I dont think he runs any M102 ;)

Just stirin bloke

Well done on the times BLOWN, Time to get some M/T Drag Radials bud, no point wasting those 19's and all that power spinning on the line. 115 mph easy 11's

Again, congrats on the time..... It's all good fun.The car did run 12.3 with a factory G&D modded air box. It's never had race fuel anywhere near it(what the hell is m102? anyway) :eek:It has had valve springs though as the stockers were rooted.

Maybe you should put your stock cam back in & try to beat us   ;)

Hey Jase, I think 12.4 with a twin turbo and stall is excellent going.
As a side note I took my girlfriends car out tonight to pick up some milk and juice, ran 12.5 @ 112....stock, and its only just over 2 litres. Blame Grant, he gave me the low down, and watch out for Mirages....
Once again, congrats.

We got a milk bar at the end of the strip here :)
As for the Gtech, dont speak about Danes car like that. He had one on his dash for ages.
