Went out to Mallala to watch the drifting action, all I can say is WOW! Those guys (and one lady) really throw those machines around. I was surprised to see a couple of V8's out there, I thought drifting was all Jap cars except for the CAPA Ute, which wasn't there anyway. There was an old V8 commodore that was driven really hard and very well too. The red rock SS Ute grabbed my attention though, being an ls1 and all. I spoke to the owner of it and he said it was just a cam only, and by the way it was smoking the tyres it must have heaps of mumbo. He went on to win as well which was great to see. Red rock driver (Andrew I think, sorry if that's not right) congrats on the great driving and scooping the silverware.

I saw a Torrie with an aussie 5.7 going pretty well the other day. Low down torque on the V8 makes up for a lack of good handling sometimes it seems.

A V8 has a much flatter torque curve and makes it easier to drift than a japanese turbo.. THey have to dip the clutch and all sorts of things to keep the car spinning.. We just punch the loud pedal.. I think a torrie with a gen 3 would make an excellent drift car with a little front end work..
