I saw a picture from an ebay auction that showed a transmission from a Commodore VT (I think). What has me interested is the shifter shown in that picture. I think it would be the correct shifter to use in my conversion. I have an LS1 and 6-speed installed in my 1995 Chevy Caprice 9C1 (police car). Tha console I am using forced me to modify the shift lever somewhat to clear the underside of the console and to come up through the shift hole centered. This shifter shown in this picture looks like it places the shift lever right where I would need it. I had to figure out a way to 'move my lever rearward maybe 4 inches, and this shifter looks like it already does this.
Does anyone here have one of these shifters available for sale? I live in the US, and obviously can't find one locally.
