Hi all,

I found this site and I'm sure someone will be able to help me with this.

Recently I bought myself a VP Berlina. It's a great car and I'm really happy with it. The only thing that I don't like is that it doesn't have the same key configuration as later model Commodores. As soon as the VR series came in, a new design came along with it. Basically, I have a 'master' key, service key and 'remote' key (boot, alarm/immobilser and doors). I want to have a single item which has the master key, door lock/unlock etc and boot release. People with VR/VS/VT/VX Commodores etc will know what I mean.

I hope I'm clear with what I'm after - the one big 'thing' with everything on it. Where do I get one?

Thanks.

Are you meaning you want the key blade and remote key head that's all in one?
For what it would be worth to attempt, would it really be worth it! Let alone work at all.
They (keys) have to be programmed via Tech 1/2 to the BCM, different steering column, ignition switch etc etc.
Although your car has a BCM (it has a 3 button remote unit, the single button remote has no BCM)) the VP system was more or less an aftermarket system fitted from the factory. From VR on on it was a much more "integrated" system.

BTW Look after your remote I dont think they are available any longer from Holden.(whereas the single button type was available and plentiful ala Executive etc) I tried to get one once when I had an VPII Berlina LX but was directed to the original supplier from the parts dept. At that point I didn't bother.

Yeah, I'm after the all in one key. I'm aware that it has to be professionally programmed - I'm just asking if it's actually possible. Sure, most people wouldn't care, but it's the only thing I'm really after so yeah :)

My car's a Berlina LX too (series 2 I think).
