It's always great to see someone taking good care of their pride & joy(s).

The SS looks great, but you're gonna have your work cut out for you keeping her clean on that dirt driveway.

Cheers

PS : I hope you don't drive with the seats in that position ;)

Thanks, Every time I wash the SS, without any fail the next day we will have a dust storm and living on Vineyard, makes alot of dust blow around.
I wake up in the morning and just see the whole car look brown, and windscreen full of dirt.
It only looks clean for a couple days.
I hate it as I spend a good couple hours everytime I wash it.
But what can you do, I like having it look clean.
Im thinking of building a garage later on hopefully that will stop most of the dust.
LOL, I do drive with my seat leaning backwards, but not that LOW!

MIKEVYCLUBBY,
Nice Clubsport you have there, looks great. :)

CHeers

Huggies,
I used no kind of spacers, the front is fine.
It's the back where the wheels scrape the guards, when I have a full car load.
I need to get myself an adjustable pan hard rod, to centre the diff again, so that the rear wheels stop scraping the guards.

they are genuine.. fury's ark out a bit.. the real ones are pretty much flat looking from the side and the fury's have a kind of webbed look where the 5 spokes meet..

19" Lenso S5 modified, and, super low king springs, my advise, dont get super low king springs, look great, rides like its on the stoppers, good on the circuit though... The kingsprings are comming out in a couple of weeks to be replaced with HSV suspension and pedders low riders ;)

First post on this forum. Some nice cars there. Just a question, are you guys honestly happy with the way the VY SS sounds? I was walking home the other day and one gunned it past me. Honestly, it sounded so dull and muted...i think the VX SS 10X better.
Thanks,

I can't remember what camera you said you're using but if you get the chance to experiment with some filters next time you're taking shots with a bright blue sky in the background try a polarizer because it'll really make the Impulse jump out. Without going into too much boring detail, it's always frustrating trying to correctly expose for both the sky detail and the detail in a contrasting foreground however you can achieve a reasonable compromise using a graduated filter (maybe a 2-stop split ND filter in that case). A polarizer will also effectively cut down the sky reflections on the car. You'll know the effects I'm talking about when you see them in car magazines. Sorry about the tech talk... all that matters is the photos and if anything can help in that area it's worth giving it a go I reckon.

Hi dominik,
Thanks for that. I try to keep her looking good as much as possible. Still haven't seen another one on the streets yet, apart from the son in law's mate's Odyssey R8. (Very nice colour, Crisso, yours looks great)

Yeah, not much action off that pier. Almost caught a cold there once, but copious medication with Bundy fixed that :) .

The camera I used for these pix is a Nikon Coolpix 5700. Had it for a year or so and very happy with the results from it over a wide variety of conditions. Action photography is the only condition where it could be better. The time lag from pressing the shutter release to the pic being taken means that good anticipation is needed for fast moving action. Not easy when not familiar with the subject matter.

Its funny but I've never thought of using filters on it. Must be getting old!! I have heaps of filters in my film kit so I dug it out and of course none fit so I 'll have to get a couple of step rings.

I've been looking at moving up to a dslr and have decided on a Nikon D70s which hopefully I'll get in the next month or so. That'll be fun.

No sweat about the tech talk, been playing with photography for a long time. Either just getting lazy/forgetful in my old age or been too distracted with enjoying the ls1/2 experience in recent times :D .

Cheers, John D

Cheers, John DHi Jed, I'll try and keep it short so as not to clutter the thread too much (sorry XLR8 and Stroker :) ). I just wanted to say that the D70 is a fantastic SLR for the money and you really can't go wrong there. The great thing about the Nikons is they've kept the same mount for a long time now so you've got a wide range of Nikkors both decades old and new at your disposal. I'm getting back into photography myself and have my eyes on a new 70-200mm Nikkor that has to be the sharpest zoom I've ever laid eyes on. Photography truly is one of those great hobbies that you can always find an application for, whether it's photographing cars, people, events, landscapes, you name it. Keep those photos coming

She's looking good Vuster. Agree that the 350D is a nice camera but there are a couple of features that the D70 has that I prefer. Not a lot in it really.

Trying to organise a "family" portrait. Not as easy as you would think.

The XUV has replaced a twin cab Triton as the "work truck". I haven't had a chance to drive it yet but am told it goes hard, not as hard as mine though :) . Dad (me) is still king of the hill,,,,and that's as it should be  .

Just got my new camera, a Nikon D50 with the kit 18-55 zoom lens. I was going to get the D70s but decided to wait till the D50 hit the streets after reading how it was electronically the same as the D70s and was only missing a few features that I wouldn't use anyway. And it was about $400 cheaper.

Had it for nearly a day now and I'm very happy with the results so far. Lots more playing to do to get to know it but it's all good fun.

So for those who aren't yet bored by pix of my baby, here are some with the new toy. The early morning pix are a bit soft as they are hand held. One day I'll remember to take the tripod. Bloody seniors moments!!!

Actually, I'm no pro photographer! I used photoshop to blur the background just to give it some spice. Original photo taken with Canon 350D digital SLR.
I took the photo on the road that leads to the blackspur. The car is parked right on the edge of a cliff.

Photoshop is great. I want to put a twin turbo kit on my car and it might look something like this:

Turned quite a few heads and the traffic seemed to magically part to allow us trouble free travel to church & reception. All good fun, particularly when giving it a bit from the lights (daughter is a hoon, wonder where she got that from?).

It was a good day and the convoy had the desired effect. Good excuse to post some more pix.

An awesome array of vehicles BlkVZSS.

Have you given any thought to which of these you would call your favourite and why?

I think the turbo VL is my all time favourite as i bought it when i was 19 in 1991 as only had around 40000klms on it and i proceeded in modding it. As it had around 300FWKW after mods it was a real jet. Went through 3 gearboxes with some very spirited driving.

But i didint post the other cars i have also owned- VZSS ute black which is in the utes section, Red VX Clubbie M6, VRSS Blue M5, VSSS A4, VL Turbo red M5 Stolen and a crappy starion turbo which got caught in a acid cloud drifting across from a chemical plant i worked next to and ate all the paint and anything plastic.

All these above cars were extremly fun also in the own way.

Thanx!

The setup consists of JVC KD-DV6105 Indash DVD Player & JVC KV-M705 7" Indash Monitor. I paid $1040 for it on the after Christmas sale from JB HiFi :)

Very good screen, and the sound the deck puts out it so much better than anything I've had in my cars before. I had a Clarion Double DIN deck in not so long ago, and compaired to this, it was basically as poor as factory sound.

Definatly good bang for bucks!

jkgmh

1) Some people prefer to not display their plates publically on the forum so that they cannot be directly identified on the roads to the person on the forums. Others (like me) aren't really that worried about it

2) Load your photo into a graphics program such as Paint/photoshop etc, smudge or paint over the plate. Save the file and upload.

Nice photo Fezz .... does that mark on the road have the same fingerprints as your car? :p
