Cam package for LS1

Im planning on getting a cam package for my car.

ive seen them advertised on capa's website for $795...

what else is involved with fitting and tuning a "mild" cam.... and what would the total costs be.? Please be nice, i know nothing at all about cams.

Im also looking around for a place to get 3.9 diff gears fitted? i know the cost of the gears, but how much would labour for fitting be... and can i get it done at any diff mechanic?

Any clued-up shop will advise you to do valve-springs and double-row timing chain at the same time, so that will cost another $8-900 for a total cost of about $2000. Best man over there is Daniel at Chipmaster - send him a PM. Diff gears will cost you about $3-400 plus the gears , about $800, so about $1200.. But it 's all worth while, particularly the diff gears..:) Yes, can be fitted by any competent diff shop. Enjoy... :burnout: :driving:

Seldo has pretty much said it all, Daniel is your best bet, give him a ring on 08-94520213 or go HERE (http://www.chipmaster.com.au/) and have a look at his website and "project Monaro". He can fit the cam and do the tune plus he will know the best place to have your diff done. Happy motoring :cool:

Chipmaster specializes in the tuning side of the ls1 engine, he can fit blowers etc, but engine work such a cams, strokers etc would be done by SQP (Street Quick Perfomance) Speak to John. He installed the cam and exhaust to my ute, if i was going a cam only I would be looking at say a 232/232 @ 110 -114 lsa. This would see upto 260rwkw with stock heads.

Just remember rwkw is not everything. I only make about 10rwkw more at peak than the stock cam, but the torque kicks in much lower in the revs and last's longer and higher.
