It seems, that Mr. Lutz, really wants to get rid of Daewoo leftovers, and the best Idea he had, was rebadge those crappy Korean Cars with more respectable badges.
Best Wishes. :)

I dunno about anyone else, but each time I see the name Lutz, I always subconciously think Klutz (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=klutz).
shudders...

Lutz doesn't dictate what Holden does - Holden and Suzuki own Daewoo, not GM NA. THey are only talking about replacing the low-end cars like the Barina (so-so car) and Astra Classic, which is a pity but that is probably going out of production anyhow - they can't sell TS Astras forever, and it probably hurts sales of the new ones which are now available in all styles and selling pretty good.
One small car is the Lacetti, an all-new inoffensive design which uses the same engine as the Astra (made in Oz) and actually gets reasonable reviews against the competition in that sector - mostly Korean Kias and Hyundais. The other car is the Kalos, which is entry -level in the entry-level class, not much better or worse than what it competes with.
If Holden specs the equipment level I don't see the problem. It is a dollar conscious market - no point having the best car which is 10-15% more than the competition in that class.
Welcome to the Global Economy. Must be good, Little Johhny and Peter-rob-Paul tell us so.

As I've said before, the Barina is a good car and it's a pity it's going, but people shopping in that market buy a deal, not a car.
So if Holden sells thousands of new Barinas and make lots of money, good luck to them. I wouldn't buy one, but then, I wouldn't have bought one anyway.
